Promoting the qualities and traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers on the economic front during the renovation period, the Veterans Association at all levels in the province has effectively implemented the movement "Veterans help each other reduce poverty and do good business". Thereby, it arouses the potential, intelligence, experience and creativity of members, contributing to promoting socio-economic development.
The province currently has more than 70,000 War Veterans Association members operating in more than 1,300 branches. To spread the movement of War Veterans competing to develop the economy and help each other reduce poverty, the War Veterans Association at all levels is interested in propagating and mobilizing members to change their thinking and working methods, and to transform the structure of crops and livestock as well as production and business forms.
Coordinate with relevant authorities to organize training and guidance on livestock and crop farming techniques; support plants and breeds and create conditions for members to borrow capital for economic development with low interest rates; organize visits to economic models inside and outside the province...
In 2024, the Association of War Veterans at all levels in the province received more than 761 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank, lending capital to more than 6,000 members to develop the economy. Mobilized and built an internal fund of 78 billion VND to help each other develop the economy. At the same time, more than 70 training courses were organized to improve knowledge and provide guidance on livestock and crop farming techniques, attracting thousands of cadres and members to participate.
Thereby helping members raise awareness, access scientific and technological advances, boldly invest in building appropriate production and business models, bringing high economic efficiency.

Currently, the province has 300 small and medium enterprises, 55 cooperatives, 253 cooperative groups, 1,263 farms, 2,844 family farms, 10,549 small-scale industrial and service businesses owned by war veterans, creating jobs for nearly 42,000 workers. Of these, 7 enterprises have revenue of over 50 billion VND/year and 7 enterprises have revenue of over 10 billion VND/year.

After returning to his hometown after being discharged from the army, veteran Nguyen Chi Hiep, Tam Ha village, Thien Ke commune (Binh Xuyen) started to develop the economy, determined to get rich right on his homeland. In 2007, Mr. Hiep invested more than 200 million VND to rent more than 4 hectares, renovate and build a barn to raise 2,000 broilers and laying hens.
Thanks to active research, learning, gaining experience, applying closed farming processes, proactively preventing and fighting diseases, the family's chicken flock has developed well and brought high economic efficiency. Up to now, Mr. Hiep's family's chicken farming model has developed to a scale of more than 50,000 chickens, with an average income of more than 1 billion VND/year.
Not only developing the economy and enriching himself, Mr. Hiep also actively supports breeding animals and shares chicken raising experiences with war veterans and local people.
Promoting the movement of "War veterans help each other reduce poverty and do good business", the life of War veterans in the province is increasingly improved. The rate of well-off and rich War veterans households in the province reached nearly 68%; the rate of poor households decreased to 0.19%.

Continuing to learn, constantly researching economic models; being sharp and decisive in applying science and technology to production and business. They are always willing to share and help those in difficult circumstances, supporting each other in economic development and in daily life. Since then, many examples of war veterans who have become rich legitimately have appeared, contributing positively to the development of their homeland and country”.
In the coming time, the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province will continue to propose positive action directions to further promote the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the economic field. Encourage members to boldly invest in expanding production scale, effectively apply scientific and technological advances in production, and aim to build sustainable joint venture and association chains.
Along with that, actively participate in social security activities, support the "Comradely Love" Fund, promote exemplary role in the movement "War veterans help each other reduce poverty, do good business", contribute to promoting the sustainable development of the province's socio-economy.
