Comrade Tran Xuan Lap, Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, said: "The quality of shift meals plays a decisive role in ensuring the nutrition and health of employees, contributing to improving labor productivity. To improve the quality of shift meals for employees, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) has issued Resolution No. 07 on "Quality of shift meals for employees", which stipulates ensuring shift meals for employees at a minimum level of 15,000 VND, and encourages businesses to raise the level of shift meals higher.
To concretize the content of Resolution No. 07, the Provincial Federation of Labor has developed a plan to implement it to 100% of grassroots unions; directed grassroots unions to proactively propose dialogue content, collective bargaining, and sign collective labor agreements (CLAs) with employers on ensuring nutrition, food safety and hygiene, and the quality of employees' meals...
Directing trade unions at all levels to coordinate with agencies, departments, branches and localities to strengthen supervision, inspection and examination of health care, shift meals, occupational safety and hygiene, implementation of preferential policies and regimes for employees; regularly organizing dialogue conferences between agencies, units, enterprises with civil servants, public employees and employees to grasp their thoughts, feelings and aspirations...
From 2024 to present, the whole province has 373/470 enterprises with grassroots trade unions that have signed collective labor agreements, reaching 79% of the plan; the trade union organization proposed to negotiate with 35 enterprises to adjust the value of shift meals according to the new regulations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Currently, the quality of shift meals for employees has been improved, with the lowest level being 15,000 VND/meal and the highest being 35,000 VND/meal... Many units have special shift meals on holidays and anniversaries...
To improve the quality of shift meals for workers, the Trade Union at all levels coordinates with units and enterprises to organize "Trade Union Meals". Accordingly, meals will have higher portions, supported by the Trade Union's financial resources, up to 50,000 VND/meal. This is an activity to show gratitude to union members and workers; affirming the responsibility of the Trade Union organization in taking better care of union members and workers from daily meals.
However, at present, there are still some enterprises that do not really care about the quality of their employees' meals. To improve the quality of their meals, the Trade Unions at all levels continue to promote propaganda work, raise awareness of employees and employers about the importance of meals; improve negotiation skills, monitor and inspect the quality of meals for Trade Union officials; coordinate with competent authorities to strengthen inspection and evaluation of the organization of meals between shifts, food safety and hygiene at units and enterprises, etc.
