Accordingly, Thanh Hoa Customs Department has focused on reforming administrative procedures, building digital customs, smart customs, saving time and costs for businesses and being transparent in the process of handling customs procedures to promote import and export activities through border gates in the province. At the same time, it continues to urge affiliated units to improve the effectiveness of state management, strengthen inspection and control to prevent budget losses. Thanks to that, in the first quarter of 2024, the total tax revenue from customs activities in the province reached 4,700 billion VND, an increase of 11% over the same period in 2023. The main source of revenue is value added tax on imported crude oil of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited and major export items such as construction stones of all kinds; wood chips; re-exported gasoline and oil; cement, iron and steel, construction materials of all kinds; frozen seafood; garment products.
