Political Department, Military Region 2 organizes a competition for political lecturers

Contestant Luong Thi Thu Thao, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Command of Tan Phong Ward, Lai Chau City, who won the First Prize in the Lai Chau Province Militia and Self-Defense Force (DQTV) had to travel over 500 kilometers to attend the Military Region-level competition. The very next day, Thao entered her political teaching competition in the same order as the draw.

All the fatigue seemed to be dispelled and she was very confident when she stepped up to the podium to practice the competition with the topic "Propaganda and mobilization work of the militia and self-defense forces to participate in resolving some complicated situations in the locality". Ms. Thao illustrated with 2 specific incidents in the locality, along with a warm, emotional voice, the Powerpoint presentations helped the listeners understand and remember easily. The lecture clearly stated the causes of the incidents, policies and measures to handle the situations of the militia and self-defense forces to help quickly stabilize the situation, not becoming a hot spot at the grassroots level. At the end of her competition, Ms. Thao received a round of applause from the delegates and listeners.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Thanh Hiep, Political Commissar of Regiment 148, Division 316, brought to the contest the lecture "Promoting the exemplary role of cadres and party members in the fight against individualism in the current grassroots units of the Army". Due to careful research and practice, specific and vivid examples of typical examples of exemplary behavior in the history of the nation; meaningful actions and deeds of some cadres and commanders at the unit through diagrams, images, videos; appropriate and attractive tone, nuances, and intonation, not only convinced the listeners but also won over the members of the Jury, thereby Lieutenant Colonel Le Thanh Hiep won the First Prize of the contest.

According to Colonel Nguyen Van Thin, Head of the Propaganda Department of Military Region 2, due to the special role and position of political education for soldiers, organizing the contest is very necessary. The contest content includes 3 parts: preparing hard copy lesson plans, electronic lesson plans and practicing teaching. The Political Department has directed agencies and units to organize 3 rounds of the contest. In round 1, agencies and units organized the contest with more than 600 cadres participating, on that basis, 82 typical comrades were selected to participate in the contest at the Military Region level and continued to screen 9 comrades to compete in the final round. During the process of organizing the contest at the grassroots level, many units had creative ways such as gathering the whole unit to listen to the lecture, the jury acted as an audience; sending survey forms to 100% of participating cadres and soldiers, as a basis for evaluating the quality of political teaching of the participating cadres. Candidates have followed the correct lecture process, mastered the content, and broken away from the lesson plan. Many candidates have scientific teaching methods, suitable for the audience, expressing language that is easy to listen to, easy to understand, easy to remember; transferring ideas and content logically; harmoniously and effectively combining the use of language with the use of presentation tools, diagrams, models, and illustrations. Many candidates broke away from the lesson plan, interacted with learners, and created an open atmosphere when conveying content.

"The Party Committee, commanders, political commissars, political officers, and political agencies of agencies and units are very interested, closely lead and direct, create conditions to ensure adequate facilities, lesson plans, lectures, and contest content must all be approved by the political agency and the Party Committee. Many cadres spend their breaks and holidays to organize review and practice lectures; effectively apply information technology in teaching and lecturing. Many candidates are very creative in the process of giving political lectures, suggesting, dialogue, and relating to practical situations in units and localities, making the lectures lively, attractive, and convincing to listeners. The judges evaluated objectively, impartially, and honestly reflected the contestants' contest results. The contest has successfully completed its objectives and requirements and ensured absolute safety," added Colonel Nguyen Van Thin.

Closing the contest, Colonel Khong Dinh Tam, Chief of Political Affairs of Military Region 2, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest affirmed: The contest is a useful playground, a good place for each contestant to show off their full potential, strengths, and experiences accumulated over many years of work; an opportunity for contestants to rub shoulders, learn, and add to their non-professional teaching career. The contestants brought to the contest a colorful picture, with the same topic but different approaches, analyzed, logically argued, connected, and applied to practice at the grassroots level. The Organizing Committee highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the contestants, especially the militia and self-defense officers of communes, wards, and towns. This fully and deeply reflected the current situation of political education work for militia and self-defense forces at the grassroots level. After the contest, each contestant will be the core, spreading new models, good practices, valuable experiences, and effective teaching methods to apply immediately to practical work.
