Game production company in Vietnam tightens recruitment
Despite the need to recruit thousands of employees, more than 200 companies producing games in Vietnam are tightening recruitment due to the workload and high professional requirements.
With rapid growth, the Vietnamese gaming industry faces many challenges in terms of human resource needs.
Currently, the human resources are not sufficient in terms of quality and quantity. This opens up countless opportunities for a well-trained young workforce in the near future.
New technologies such as 5G, Blockchain, cloud computing, along with strong improvements in online gaming devices (PC, smartphone), Vietnam is becoming one of the countries with the largest growth in the number of gamers, revenue and profit.
Furthermore, the number of Vietnamese companies and individuals participating in producing and releasing games for the global market is large.
In 2021, Google reported that there were about 430,000 game developers in Vietnam. According to a report from VGDA, the Vietnamese game market is expected to continue to grow strongly in 2024.
This constant growth will bring many job opportunities as well as extremely attractive salaries for key positions such as programming and game design.
According to Mr. Truong Ngoc Cuong, CEO of IKame Vietnam Company, the game programming and design industry currently has great potential and will grow strongly this year as well as in the following years.
Gamota releases the hit game Zenless Zone Zero 2024 |
According to statistics from Salary Expert, the average salary for the position of Game Developer (game programming) is currently about 187 million VND/year, the position of Game Designer (game design) is about 430 million VND/year.
In addition, the development in the field of Game production also creates many new job and career opportunities, expanding into many diverse types such as marketing, advertising, streamer...
According to the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, with about 200 businesses currently producing games in Vietnam, the recruitment demand for this type of work can reach thousands of employees. However, with the high volume of work and professional requirements, the demand for quality human resources in the game industry is also being tightened by companies.
With a young population and easy adoption of new technology, Vietnam has a very large and growing gaming community. This has encouraged many talented people from prestigious universities with a variety of majors to enter the gaming industry.
However, along with impressive growth and great career potential, the Game industry is facing a difficult human resource problem. Only 30% of graduates meet recruitment requirements.
The Game industry requires developers to have specific knowledge and expertise. For example, Game programmers need to have skills and quick thinking about code logic, balance both programming languages and update trends quickly.
According to Ms. Vu Thi Trang, CEO of Gamota Game Publishing Company, the company's demand for recruiting people in the graphic and programming fields is very high every year. However, it will be difficult for them to stay in the industry for a long time when most of them are from other fields.
“When entering a specific environment like Game, they need more time to train in-depth knowledge. This directly affects companies because the human resources that can be trained will be limited. Therefore, the fact that candidates are trained thoroughly from the beginning will be of great value to the business,” said Ms. Trang.
It is known that recently Gameloft - a video game developer and publisher based in Paris, France, sent 20 specialists to Vietnam to train staff for the position of Game Designer. This position in Vietnam is very rare and sought after with extremely good benefits.
However, due to training limitations, Vietnam has not yet developed these fields of study. Meanwhile, Vietnam has a young, dynamic and potential workforce in the technology field, especially in the field of Game development.
To solve the human resource problem in the Game industry, related units have begun to conduct strategic cooperation.
Recently, Gamota has officially joined hands with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) in the field of training in game design and development.
This partnership marks an important milestone in meeting the growing needs of the labor market, especially in the entertainment technology sector.
Within the framework of cooperation with PTIT, Gamota commits to not only providing students with the opportunity to study and practice directly with leading experts in the industry, but also opening up many attractive job opportunities after graduation.
