Shizuoka Gas Company (Japan) has just officially approved cooperation in renewable energy investment with Hoan Loc Viet Joint Stock Company by transferring shares in a solar power plant in Ninh Thuan.

The signing ceremony of the contract to transfer shares of Hoan Loc Viet Joint Stock Company and shareholders of Shizuoka Gas Company took place on the afternoon of February 14, 2025 at a restaurant on Nguyen Hue Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

On the afternoon of February 14, in Ho Chi Minh City, Hoan Loc Viet Joint Stock Company held a cooperation signing ceremony with a partner from Japan - Shizuoka Gas ., Ltd.

Accordingly, Shizuoka Gas ., Ltd., the third largest energy company in Japan, officially agreed to cooperate with Hoan Loc Viet Joint Stock Company to invest in renewable energy in Vietnam (through the signing ceremony of the contract to transfer shares of Hoan Loc Viet Joint Stock Company and shareholders of Shizuoka Gas Company).

On November 11, 2024, Shizuoka Gas announced that on November 8, Shizuoka Gas Co., Ltd. reached a final agreement with Hoan Loc Viet Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as HLV), a unit developing renewable energy in Vietnam, to acquire 25% of the shares of My Son - Hoan Loc Viet Solar Power Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as MSHLV, a subsidiary of HLV that is managing and operating solar power plants) from HLV.

At this time, Hoan Loc Viet Joint Stock Company owns 60% of shares at My Son - Hoan Loc Viet Solar Power Joint Stock Company.

According to Shizuoka Gas, My Son - Hoan Loc Viet Solar Power Joint Stock Company owns the My Son - Hoan Loc Viet Solar Power Plant in Ninh Thuan province, which has been in commercial operation since June 2019.

“The expected annual electricity output of the power plant in fiscal year 2024 is about 78 million kWh, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 40,000 average households in Vietnam,” Shizuoka Gas Company mentioned.

Through the acquisition of shares, “Shizuoka Gas will enter the solar power business in Vietnam. This will be the first time Shizuoka Gas develops business in Vietnam,” Shizuoka Gas said in the announcement.

At the same time, Shizuoka Gas said that through its partnership with HLV, the company will help alleviate power shortages and promote the development of renewable energy in Vietnam, while contributing to sustainable economic growth. Shizuoka Gas Group will continue to support the realization of a carbon-free society and contribute to the development of local communities both in and outside Japan.

According to research, the My Son - Hoan Loc Viet Solar Power Plant Project started construction in November 2018 and by May 2019, the project had completed all items and started energizing. The project covers an area of ​​64.57 hectares, with a total capital of 1,250 billion VND , and is located in My Son commune, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province.

Shizuoka Gas is headquartered in Shizuoka, Japan, and was established on April 16, 1910. According to the announcement, Shizuoka Gas has a charter capital of 6,279 million yen, with main areas including gas production, supply and trading; gas equipment sales; gas-related construction contracts.
