In Vietnam, Tan Hiep Phat is a partner of GEA Procomac applying this technology in beverage production.

The wave of shift to a “green” economy

Most countries in the world are shifting to a circular economy model, with sustainable production methods, restoration, regeneration and gradually reducing the amount of resources that must be exploited and limiting waste discharge into the environment. Many large corporations, especially multinational corporations in the world, are actively converting from the traditional linear economy to a sustainable circular economy, because of the benefits it brings to the social community and the business itself.

The circular economy model can also become a competitive advantage for businesses, as major business partners will increasingly impose strict sustainability requirements and prioritize cooperation with companies that ensure this. In particular, users are also becoming more aware of environmental protection and have more sympathy for “green” brands.

Standing out in the food and beverage industry is GEA Procomac's Aseptic technology, which stands out for its sterile and environmentally friendly properties. Each line has a capacity of 48,000 bottles per hour, equivalent to more than 13 bottles of products shipped per second. The breakthrough of Aseptic cold filling technology is that the product solution is not only UHT sterilized; but also at the filling, capping, sterilized bottles, sterilized caps, sterilized water, sterilized products and sterile filling environment.

This breakthrough has made GEA Procomac the world leader in aseptic filling technology with more than 230 aseptic lines installed worldwide.

“Joining hands” towards a sustainable economy

In 2008, this global corporation “set foot” in Vietnam through cooperation with Tan Hiep Phat. The “handshake” between the two sides is also a pioneering step of the Vietnamese business community in responding and putting “green” issues into the focus of operations, through “reducing brown - increasing green”.

Tan Hiep Phat is the pioneer beverage manufacturer in Vietnam to invest in and own 12 Aseptic cold filling technology lines developed by GEA Group (Germany), with a total value of over 300 million USD.

Aseptic's advanced technology helps Tan Hiep Phat's products retain many nutrients that are good for consumers' health; while maintaining natural, pure color and flavor, without preservatives. In particular, this technology also helps businesses reduce the amount of plastic used in the production process by reducing the weight of plastic bottles. In addition, the company can also reduce waste during the production process and reduce both electricity and water usage.

“A very positive example of our business expansion in the Vietnamese market is the production lines sold to Tan Hiep Phat over the past 15 years. Over the past decade, both parties have worked, innovated and researched to achieve the ultimate optimal result,” said Mr. Luigi Bonzanini - Director of Sales, Marketing and Global Project Management of GEA Procomac.

Mr. Luigi Bonzanini also affirmed that in the future, the strategy of this group is to continue to further consolidate the position of the enterprise in the Vietnamese market. In this plan, the cooperation with Tan Hiep Phat through the transfer of advanced technologies is considered by this enterprise as the "spearhead of attack" in the next phase.

Expressing the mission of sustainable development, at a circular economy event taking place in September 2023, a representative of Tan Hiep Phat shared: “Vietnam is famous for its beautiful beaches and brilliant golden coastlines. We must act now to preserve marine life, our beaches and our hidden tourist gems. We must work together to limit single-use plastic as much as possible. Tan Hiep Phat is ready to cooperate to solve the challenges ahead and do everything possible to reach a sustainable circular economy.”
