Quang Nam coach receives penalty for attacking referee

The penalty decision clearly states: " A fine of 10 million VND for Coach Van Sy Son, head coach of Quang Nam Club, for his statements at the press conference after the match between Quang Nam Club and LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club on April 4, seriously affecting the image and reputation of the National Professional Football Tournament Organizing Committee and Vietnamese football ."

Coach Van Sy Son was fined for attacking the referee.

The referee team controlling the match at Hoa Xuan Stadium includes main referee Nguyen Ngoc Chau, 2 assistants Tran Duy Khanh and Hoang Duy Tuat, and the fourth referee Nguyen Dinh Thai.

The referee team controlling the match made controversial decisions and received immediate backlash from the home team Quang Nam as the match took place.

At the end of the match, Coach Van Sy Son was upset: " At this time, 2 of our players have been injured for a month and may not recover. The referee did not blow the whistle when he saw a mistake. We touched them lightly and they blew the whistle, you can see how the other team played, the cameras have it all. A young team like ours playing against an opponent with 12-13 players (an opponent who benefits from the referee - PV) is not acceptable. I condemn this.

Mr. Son's statement is considered to go beyond the scope of the match, affecting the general image of V.League. The VFF's disciplinary regulations clearly stipulate penalties for coaches if they attack match officials, members of the organizing committee and the tournament.

Previously, coach Velizar Popov of Thanh Hoa Club was also warned many times for similar behavior.

For his part, Mr. Van Sy Son said: " I still know that my players tried very hard at home. We were disadvantaged, not just saying it now. We did not lose but everyone on the field watching, watching on TV, understanding football, you have to speak up for Quang Nam Club. If the referee makes such a decision, we cannot play.
