Of the three subjects in the 10th grade exam, math is the subject with a lower score distribution than the other two. This is the subject that shows the clearest differentiation, meeting the requirements of the entrance exam.
Citing this opinion, an examiner said that contrary to the prediction that math would have many low scores, the score range this year was similar to last year. In questions 7 and 8, many students were able to answer questions a and b.
The examination board also considered and calculated odd scores of up to 0.25 for candidates. This is beneficial for candidates because even those who can solve small ideas in the question will still be counted.
On the other hand, in math this year, the percentage of failing scores has decreased significantly compared to previous years. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the 10th grade benchmark is automatically calculated based on the total score of the three exam subjects of the candidates and the number of candidates registering for a school and the enrollment quota of that school.
In the 2024-2025 school year, the total enrollment target for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City is 77,355 students, while more than 98,000 students took the exam. Thus, this year's grade 10 entrance exam will have 78.3% of candidates passing the public grade 10 exam.
