1 of 3 laboratories that did not meet biosafety level 2 has been fixed

(QBĐT) - According to information from the Department of Health, of the 3 laboratories that did not ensure level 2 biosafety (BSS) that the department previously withdrew the announcement of, 1 laboratory has corrected and announced that it meets the standards.

The laboratory of Quang Binh Friendship Hospital (Dong Hoi City) ensures level 2 biosafety.

Accordingly, on April 2, the Quang Binh Department of Health received a self-declaration of the testing facility meeting ATSH standards from Quang Binh Friendship Hospital - Quang Binh Friendship Hospital Company Limited (located at 78 Huu Nghi, Dong Hoi City), after overcoming and supplementing the conditions according to regulations.

Deputy Director of the Department of Health Phan Thanh Hai said: Units self-declared laboratories meeting ATSH level 2 standards and are responsible for their self-declaration. The Department of Health will conduct inspections and checks. If any unit fails to meet the standards, the Department will withdraw the self-declaration of that unit and not allow it to perform certain specialized techniques to ensure safety in the medical environment.

Regarding the laboratory of Quang Binh Friendship Hospital, on April 8, the Department of Health conducted an inspection and determined: This testing facility ensures ATSH level 2 as announced and conducts testing within the scope of expertise. Currently, the whole province has 19 ATSH level 1 laboratories and 19 ATSH level 2 laboratories.

As reported by Quang Binh Newspaper, previously, the Department of Health announced the withdrawal of the declaration of laboratories meeting ATSH level 2 standards of 3 medical facilities, including: Medic Quang Binh Laboratory located at 15 Huu Nghi Street (Nam Ly Ward), Minh Anh General Clinic located at 81-83 Ly Thanh Tong (Loc Ninh Commune) and Quang Binh Friendship Hospital Company Limited located at 78 Huu Nghi Street (Nam Ly Ward).
