On December 12, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and the joint venture of PC1 Group Joint Stock Company - Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (PC1 - PECC4 Joint Venture) held a contract signing ceremony for package HH01-DZCĐ: design, supply of equipment and construction of submarine cable section (EPC) of the project to supply electricity from the national grid to Con Dao district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
The project to supply electricity from the national grid to Con Dao district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has a total investment of VND 4,923,514 billion, with EVN as the investor and Power Project Management Board 3 (EVNPMB3) assigned as the investor representative.
After signing the EPC contract and starting construction in December 2024, construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, supplying electricity to Con Dao district from the national grid. The project is expected to be completed in 2026. Funding for the project is arranged from the state budget and EVN's counterpart capital.
The EPC package is the main package of the project with the scope of work including design, equipment supply and construction of a 110kV submarine cable line with a length of about 77.7km from the sea transition point in Soc Trang to the landing point in Con Dao. The package scale is up to nearly 2,000 billion VND.
This package was organized to select contractors through open domestic bidding. After organizing the selection of contractors, the contractor with the capacity and experience was selected to win the bid, which was the Joint Venture of PC1 Group Joint Stock Company - Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (Joint Venture PC1 - PECC4).
EVN leaders said that this is one of the key projects to be implemented in 2025. The project has received attention from all levels of industry and local authorities to develop a construction plan, select suitable contractors in accordance with regulations, and ensure requirements on security, safety, and construction quality.
Accordingly, EVN assigned the task to the Power Project Management Board 3 and the EPC contractor to manage the project. The construction organization must ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements, and focus resources and equipment to speed up progress and complete the project according to the set plan.
