On March 2, Dak Lak Provincial Police coordinated with the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Buon Ho Town to organize a groundbreaking ceremony to build a house for Mr. Y Than Ksor's family, Kmien Hamlet, Ea Drong Commune.
Major General Le Vinh Quy, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of Dak Lak Provincial Police, said: Dak Lak is a province located in the center of the Central Highlands region, with a particularly important strategic position in terms of security and defense. Although the province has a high economic growth rate, the whole province still has 34,434 poor households (accounting for 6.38%) and 27,651 near-poor households (accounting for 5.12%) of the province's population. Of which, there are 5,405 poor and near-poor households with temporary houses, dilapidated houses that need to be repaired and rebuilt in 2025.
In order to support people in building and repairing houses, contributing to helping a part of the people have stable housing, work and produce with peace of mind, gradually stabilize their lives, develop family economy, and reduce poverty. In 2024, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to implement the Project to support the construction of 1,200 houses for people in the whole province. The Provincial Police completed the construction of 1,200 houses for people in just over 3 months , which was evaluated by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Public Security, and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee as the Housing Project with 4 bests, including: Fastest, most beautiful, most determined, and most courageous.
Responding to the movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister, along with effectively implementing the Project on socio-economic development associated with ensuring security and national defense in the Central Highlands. In 2025, Dak Lak province deployed and implemented 4 Projects on building houses for policy families, poor households, and near-poor households in the province. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to preside over and advise on the implementation of the Project to build 4,285 new houses for poor and near-poor households, with a budget of 80 million VND/house. Of which, the Central Government mobilized support for 60 million VND/house, Dak Lak Province supported 20 million VND/house. This is the largest Project to support housing construction for poor and near-poor households ever in the province.
“The implementation of the Project is of great significance, contributing to the effective implementation of the work of securing the people, ensuring social security, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, gradually improving the quality of life of a part of the poor and disadvantaged people in districts, towns and cities; continuing to strengthen the people's trust in the Party, the State, Party committees and authorities at all levels, as well as the Public Security Forces,” Major General Le Vinh Quy emphasized.
Accordingly, Mr. Y Than Ksor’s household, Kmien village, Ea Drong commune, Buon Ho town, was chosen to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the first house for people in Buon Ho town. This is a poor household, with especially difficult circumstances, because 7 people have to live in an old, dilapidated, cramped wooden house… moreover, the head of the household had a stroke so there was no condition to repair it.
After this groundbreaking ceremony, the province will simultaneously start building new houses for poor households. With the determination to compete to achieve achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces; welcome the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, the Provincial Public Security will complete the construction of 4,285 houses and hand them over to people for use before August 15, 2025.
Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and local authorities to pay attention to and monitor the implementation progress. Continue to promote propaganda and mobilization work, spread the sense of responsibility, raise awareness so that the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province truly becomes a movement of the whole society and the whole people, joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, contributing to bringing a better life to the people.
