According to Ms. Xuan, the world is in a period of great change. Information is resonated by technology and the Internet, causing the level of dissemination to be global, affecting both positive and negative directions.
Therefore, the cooperation aims to promote timely and accurate access to information based on digital capabilities. Turn information into knowledge to support businesses, improve people's livelihoods and lives, and minimize the impact of negative information.
Ms. Xuan proposed that the conference focus on discussing a number of solutions to promote digital transformation . Improve people's access to the Internet and digital skills, promote official and positive information, and handle fake news and misinformation. Pay attention to rural and remote areas, ensuring that information and knowledge are widely disseminated.
Speaking to delegates, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications, said that people are living in a world of information overload. Each citizen spends many hours every day continuously consuming information, regardless of whether it is true or fake news.
However, information is too much but knowledge and understanding are less. Not many people can find knowledge and create value after the modern information flow.
Too much information also causes confusion, insecurity, doubt and loss of trust. At this time, the media needs to bring information with new knowledge content to help people adapt, use new technology for development and cooperation, bring positive energy and nurture trust.
Therefore, the media must shift from providing information to providing knowledge and understanding to people to help them survive in a volatile world.
