After 23 years of construction, growth and development, Hanoi Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 6 with a team of both red and professional staff has received and treated tens of thousands of drug addicts at the Center. Currently, the Center is treating and detoxifying nearly 500 voluntary and compulsory students; 59 addicts participating in taking Methadone; Approaching and consulting nearly 200 customers of the Legal and Social Counseling Support Model transferred to Phuc Tan, Chuong Duong, Hang Buom, Ly Thai To wards, Hoan Kiem district; Bo De, Ngoc Lam, Ngoc Thuy wards, Long Bien district, among which there are customers who have been clean for over 10 years and have stable jobs in the locality.
When entering the rehabilitation center, students will go through 5 stages: Reception, classification; Treatment of withdrawal, detoxification, treatment of mental disorders, treatment of other diseases; Education, counseling, behavioral and personality rehabilitation; Labor therapy, vocational training; Preparation for reintegration into the community, ensuring that students have the best foundation in health, skills to prevent relapse as well as orientation to build a personal plan when reintegrating into the community.

In addition to building a friendly and humane drug rehabilitation environment, considering drug addicts as patients; taking students as the center, as the service object; fundamentally changing the awareness of officials, civil servants and employees in the agency in drug rehabilitation work; "exemplary teachers, self-conscious students - all for beloved students" as the guiding principle for action, the unit's leaders also pay special attention to building a green - clean - beautiful unit environment, specifically with the criterion "clean and beautiful like a park".
With practical actions, every year the Facility develops a general plan to deploy to each department and team in the Facility on environmental protection work at the unit. Establish a specialized team for ornamental plant care and environmental protection, including staff and students of the volunteer team, with the task of caring for and improving the environmental landscape, cutting grass, pruning branches, planting and caring for flower gardens and ornamental plants on campus.
For daily cleaning, the Board of Directors assigns departments and student management teams to be responsible for cleaning each area including hallways, dormitories, team yards, walkways, and communal living areas at the teams. In addition, the Youth Union of the Base also develops a "Green Sunday" plan to mobilize youth union members and students to conduct a general cleaning of the environment throughout the unit every Sunday.
In addition to renovating the landscape and environment, the unit also pays great attention to epidemic prevention and hygiene. Every year, the Health and Prevention Department consults on developing a plan to prevent and control seasonal epidemics, especially for epidemics at the time of changing seasons and respiratory diseases such as the recent Covid-19 epidemic.
Regularly spray disinfectants, spray Cloramin B to prevent respiratory diseases such as Covid-19; sprinkle lime powder to kill mosquito larvae to prevent dengue fever; Advise staff and students in the unit to maintain personal hygiene, ensure cooked food and boiled water, keep internal affairs neat and clean; clear sewers to avoid blockages in the flow, avoiding creating conditions for disease to spread widely.
In the treatment and health care areas, the student self-management teams, and the occupational therapy training areas of the Facility, there are separate, clean, well-ventilated, well-lit restrooms and adequate trash bins.
In particular, the occupational therapy work of students always emphasizes the factors of occupational safety, fire prevention, indiscriminate discharge, and linking occupational therapy with sustainable protection of the living environment.
Staff and students of Hanoi Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 6 actively participate in environmental sanitation activities.
Activities to increase livestock production and improve the soil environment to grow more vegetables and add them to the daily menu for staff and students are also focused on and effectively implemented by the unit.
Keeping the staff kitchen and student kitchen clean is always a top priority from the preparation stage to the finished product, ensuring food hygiene and safety, providing delicious, nutritious meals for staff and students.
In addition, the Facility also regularly propagates and calls on each officer and student in the Facility to raise awareness, responsibility, and be proactive in protecting the living environment through specific actions.
With the above environmental hygiene solutions, over the years, Hanoi Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 6 has always ensured a safe living space, no epidemics in the unit, staff and students can live and work in a green - clean - beautiful environment to together successfully achieve the goal of building a friendly, humane, professional and effective drug rehabilitation environment.
