Binh Dinh Technology giants set up companies and opened branches in Quy Nhon, opening up job opportunities for local IT engineers.
After 2 years studying Information Technology at Quy Nhon University, Nguyen Phuoc Thuan (Phu Cat district) believes he is on the right track. The school is nearly 40 km from home, the 2023-born boy often comes home for meals on weekends, tuition and living expenses are not high, reducing pressure on his parents. However, what Thuan is most excited about is the job opportunities after graduation. TMA Tech Group, FPT Corporation and many other technology corporations choose Quy Nhon as their destination.
Thuan is one of 1,500 students studying at the Faculty of Information Technology - Quy Nhon University. The faculty currently has other majors such as: artificial intelligence, software engineering, information technology, computer science... Before 2018, the school mainly sent students to do internships in big cities like Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang... where there are large companies. After 2018, when TMA Tech Group and FPT established companies and opened branches in the martial arts land, students had internships right near the school.

The wave of investment from technology companies in Binh Dinh has led to an increase in the number of students studying IT at the school. In the 2017 enrollment period, the Faculty of Information Technology had 174 students enrolled. This year, the school welcomed 311 new students.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Information Technology, Quy Nhon University, said that over the past time, the school's training program has been designed to closely follow the needs of businesses to help students have more job opportunities.
TMA Tech Group is currently an internship location and also a destination for many Quy Nhon University students after graduation. Mr. Nguyen Huu Le, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TMA Solutions Group, the investor of TMA Creative Park, said that the internship program of the unit will select students who meet the entry requirements to participate in implementing the model project. In addition, TMA Training Center provides English and soft skills training courses for students to quickly complete all necessary professional skills.
Currently, the staff working at TMA Quy Nhon Creative Park is more than 550 people. Of which, 75% of the staff come from training institutions in the Central region, mostly Quy Nhon University.
"In the next 5-10 years, we need about 2,000-3,000 IT engineers," said Mr. Le.
Similarly, FPT Software Quy Nhon has grown from the first 50 engineers in 2018 to more than 600 employees. The company aims to recruit nearly 1,000 technology engineers this year.
With the orientation of making Binh Dinh become the leading artificial intelligence center in the region, FPT has opened FPT AI University Quy Nhon. The first class will enroll in 2022, the school currently has about 1,000 students.

Recently, FPT Software broke ground on the construction of a complex of research, production and training centers for technology experts in Quy Hoa valley, Ghenh Rang ward with a total investment of more than 2,000 billion VND, covering an area of more than 15 hectares. This will be the workplace, training and research and development place for more than 25,000 technology personnel. In addition, the AI Research Center project in Quy Nhon is also being implemented with a scale of about 94 hectares, with a total investment of more than 4,300 billion VND.
"In the context of rapid technological development, on-site human resource training has become extremely urgent and the establishment of FPT AI University Quy Nhon has partly solved this problem," said Dr. Nguyen Gia Tri, Head of Training Department, FPT AI University Quy Nhon.
Dr. Tri said that over the past two years, the school has gradually affirmed its pioneering role in creating high-quality human resources. In addition to international training programs, the school's training activities are closely linked to the needs and realities of businesses. For example, some practical courses for students are held at the office of FPT Software Quy Nhon.
"Students will have wide career opportunities and become seniors right after graduation thanks to being fully equipped with knowledge, skills, and accumulated practical experience during their time studying at the school and at FPT Software Quy Nhon as well as QAI - the leading center for research and application of artificial intelligence in Vietnam," said Dr. Tri.

In addition to TMA and FPT, Quy Nhon is also a "fertile land" for many prestigious technology companies, especially companies from Japan such as: Fujinet Systems, Edison, Alphatech, NCCplus...
According to a survey by Quy Nhon University, new graduates will have a salary of about 7-20 million VND, depending on position and qualifications. Many engineers graduating from the school are holding high positions in large companies. For example, Dong Nguyen Kieu Trinh, a former student of Quy Nhon University, is currently the Head of Data Science at TMA Binh Dinh.
Trinh said that in addition to the knowledge and practical experience when working at the company, she also developed soft skills and received English training, so she was able to work on large projects and had the opportunity to travel to many countries around the world.
