Tomorrow morning (December 25), in Hanoi, Cong Thuong Newspaper will organize the Workshop 'Carbon Market: Opportunities and Challenges'.
Implementing policies on green and sustainable economic development as well as implementing the national strategy on climate change for the period up to 2050 according to Decision No. 896/QD-TTg dated July 26, 2022 of the Prime Minister, in order to proactively and effectively adapt, reduce vulnerability, loss and damage caused by climate change; reduce greenhouse gas emissions according to the target of net emissions of "0" by 2050, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued the "Action Plan for Climate Change Response and Green Growth of the Industry and Trade Sector for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2050" with many specific goals.

To achieve the goals in the above strategy and plan, raising awareness about emissions, as well as implementing the greenhouse gas emission reduction credit exchange market (carbon market) in Vietnam is an important task of the industry as well as many enterprises in the Industry and Trade sector.
With the desire to convey the message of economic transition towards green, circular, low-carbon economy; at the same time providing more updated information on the current status, challenges as well as proposing solutions to effectively implement the carbon market in Vietnam, Cong Thuong Newspaper organized the Workshop " Carbon Market: Opportunities and Challenges " with the participation of invited guests:
- Mr. Hoang Van Tam - Head of Climate Change Group, Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade.
- Mr. Nguyen Sy Linh - Head of Climate Change and Global Issues Department - Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment - Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
- Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen The Chinh - Vice President of Vietnam Environmental Economics Association.
- Ms. Dang Hong Hanh - Team leader, expert on climate change policy.
- Mr. Vu Manh Thang - Energy Department, Truong Thanh Vietnam Group.
- Ms. Phan Thi Thu Thuy - Representative of Environmental Informatics Consulting Company - TKV.
The workshop will have two sessions. Session 1 : Presentation - Current status of carbon market, advantages of industrial enterprises and initial implementation results. Session 2 : Discussion - Challenges in implementing carbon emission reduction targets in industrial production and resolving challenges.
