The State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam is a particularly important diplomatic activity between Vietnam and China this year. With 18 activities over two days, the visit achieved many important results, contributing to promoting the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.

The two sides also reached a broad common understanding on further strengthening the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership in the direction of “6 more”, focusing on concretizing the common understandings and Agreements between the two sides.

Assessing the results of the visit, Mr. Duong Dan Chi, a Southeast Asia expert at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that the visit fully reflected the high regard given to the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and China. "The results of the visit were outstanding, and will certainly help to enhance bilateral relations in a sustainable and stable manner, and at the same time have a positive impact on the relations between China and Southeast Asian countries," said Mr. Duong Dan Chi.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Cui Zhenhai, Director of the Hong Kong Social Investment Research Institute (China), said that the senior leaders of the two countries attach great importance to this visit. The members of the Vietnamese high-level delegation are mostly leaders of ministries and branches. The two sides have in-depth exchanges in specific areas, creating a solid foundation for the deep and long-term development of China-Vietnam relations. Within the framework of the visit, the two sides issued a Joint Statement on further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, promoting the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future. The ministries, branches and localities of the two countries also signed many cooperation documents in various fields. According to expert Duong Dan Chi, the 14 documents signed this time mentioned many issues of mutual concern to both sides, from cooperation between party schools - that is, in the field of ideology, to cooperation in industry, customs, finance, interconnection and Vietnam's export of agricultural products to China. “This fully reflects the increasingly practical cooperation between the two sides. Under the guidance of the major and long-term goal of jointly building a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future, the cooperation between the two sides has begun to deepen and develop in a more substantial direction,” said Mr. Duong Dan Chi.

Mr. Cui Zhenhai predicted: "China and Vietnam will develop more detailed cooperation on many levels, the resources of the two sides will be integrated, such as railways will be more connected, resources will also be more interconnected". According to the assessment of Chinese experts, the common consensus reached between the two countries' senior leaders during the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam will promote the role of directing the bilateral relationship, promoting the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future and the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two sides to become increasingly in-depth and substantive, while opening up new areas of cooperation in the future.
