Recently, the Provincial People's Committee has issued plans to support bringing agricultural production households to e-commerce platforms, promoting the development of the digital economy of agriculture and rural areas to connect, promote, introduce products, and expand the market. Accordingly, the province's agricultural products are participating in transactions on platforms such as postmart.vn, voso.vn, binhduongtrade.vn, foodmap... Currently, the whole province has more than 2,000 organizations and individuals registered to participate in e-commerce platforms and 17,000 organizations and individuals in the agricultural sector registered accounts to buy and sell on these platforms.
Through trade promotion activities as the driving force and digital transformation (DT) as the foundation, the OCOP Program aims to develop OCOP products effectively and sustainably. OCOP entities have proactively applied DT in the stages of production, processing and product promotion, such as applying the traceability system combined with QR codes; introducing products through social networks. The results achieved show that DT has helped the agricultural sector in general and production entities in particular to promote more widely, increase sales, expand consumption channels, and achieve the goal of bringing local OCOP products to the world market.
Notably, the economic value of agricultural products in the province has increased by 20% or more thanks to meeting OCOP criteria; in addition, digital technology has brought OCOP products to consumers faster, so sales have increased by 50% compared to before... Mr. Nguyen Phong Huy, Director of the Department of Rural Development, said that the plan to support bringing agricultural production households to e-commerce platforms, promoting the development of the digital economy in agriculture and rural areas in the province sets a target of having over 50% of agricultural production households have digital booths on e-commerce platforms by 2025, and over 60% of households have electronic payment accounts. To achieve this goal, in recent times, the province's agricultural sector has proposed synchronous solutions, promoting local advantages, forming and developing concentrated commodity production areas, developing products that meet VietGAP, GlobalGAP, HACCP standards, etc.
In addition, the agricultural sector focuses on tracing product origins, granting growing area codes, ensuring quality processes for export, promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation, building a database management system for OCOP products, etc.
