During the resistance wars to save the country, many fishermen along the southern coast participated in transporting weapons and ammunition, creating the legendary road - the Ho Chi Minh trail at sea.

Ben Loc An is located at the mouth of the Ray River - a river originating from Gia Tien stream. On both sides of the river are primeval forests, mangroves, connecting with Binh Chau, Phuoc Buu forests and the vast old-growth forest system in the North and Northwest.
Loc An is about 20km from Can Gio estuary - one of the most strategically important river mouths in the Southeast region.

During the years of resistance, Loc An wharf was chosen for the unnumbered train to dock, ensuring secrecy and convenience for transporting weapons.
At Loc An port, 3 unnumbered ships of the 125th Navy group successfully docked, transporting 20, 44, and 70 tons of weapons in 3 port calls to equip the people and soldiers of the Eastern provinces participating in campaigns, contributing to resounding victories such as: Binh Gia, Dong Xoai, Dau Tieng...
On March 10, 1963, the first ship departing from Hai Phong carrying more than 20 tons of weapons safely reached shore (later March 10 was taken as the traditional day of the ship without number).

For the people of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Loc An wharf is a feat of bravery, boldness and intelligence of the army and people of Xuyen Moc - Long Dat district in particular and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in general.
This place is also a testament to the strategic sea transport route "Ho Chi Minh trail at sea" to transport goods from the North to support the revolution in the South.
On the anniversary days, many agencies, armed forces and people come to the relic site to offer incense. This is also considered a "red address" to educate historical traditions for the younger generations. (Photo: XMNM).
Ben Loc An was recognized as a National Historical Site in 1995. Today, a memorial stele was erected to commemorate the resounding feat of the soldiers of the unnumbered train fleet in the past.
