After many years living in a makeshift wooden house, the dream of a new solid house for Mr. Y Min Byă’s family (Tliêr hamlet, Hoa Phong commune) has now come true. His family is poor, with income based on only 2 sao of wet rice. He and his wife are old and weak, and the family’s finances are in short supply.
In September 2024, the Provincial Association of Former Youth Volunteers mobilized benefactors to support 80 million VND, along with the help of relatives and neighbors, his family happily received a Gratitude House worth more than 100 million VND.

The attention and support of local authorities, organizations and benefactors have motivated his family to have a place to live, stabilize their lives, and confidently develop their economy.
Although she has been living in her new house for more than 5 months, Ms. Phan Thi Kim Hong (residential group 6, Krong Kmar town) is still very happy. As a lonely elderly person, a poor household, for many years she had to live alone in a cramped and dilapidated wooden house. Understanding her difficult situation, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province supported 70 million VND, together with contributions from relatives, she was able to build a Great Unity house with a total area of 95 m2, worth 195 million VND.
In 2024, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Krong Bong district achieved remarkable results. Of which, 201 houses were built and repaired for meritorious people, poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties, with a total cost of 14.7 billion VND (194 new houses and 7 houses repaired). The program has gradually helped poor households, near-poor households, and policy families to have the conditions to build new and repair houses, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction, improving and enhancing the quality of life, and ensuring social security.

To adhere to the plan, monthly and quarterly, departments, agencies, organizations and People's Committees of communes and towns will report on the progress and implementation results so that the District People's Committee can promptly direct and remove difficulties. Krong Bong District strives to complete, accept and hand over 100% of the repaired and newly built houses according to the program's plan before September 30, 2025.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Bong district, Le Van Long, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the district, said that eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the district is considered one of the important political tasks and top priorities of the locality. To complete the set goals, local Party committees, authorities, departments and offices need to promote a sense of responsibility, focus strongly, and effectively implement the program. In addition to allocating funds from the local budget and mobilizing other support sources in the area, it is necessary to promote propaganda and mobilize socio-political organizations, cadres, civil servants, public employees, enterprises, union members, association members and people in the area to actively participate in supporting and assisting in many appropriate forms.
