VN-Index closed at 1,240.4 points, down more than 9 points compared to yesterday.

Stocks were in the red all day. In the morning, sell orders were placed early, causing the HoSE index to fall as soon as the live trading session opened. However, liquidity was low, so the market did not retreat too far, mainly maintaining a distance of 3-5 points from the reference.

In the early afternoon, the market fluctuated with a similar decrease. However, after 2 p.m., the supply of low-priced stocks appeared more and spread more widely, pushing the general index further down.

VN-Index closed at 1,240.4 points, down more than 9 points compared to yesterday. This was the strongest correction of the stock market since November 19.

On the entire HoSE, 281 stocks fell, 2.6 times more than the number of stocks that rose. The VN30 basket alone had 25 stocks falling, causing the representative index to fall more than 11 points. The stocks that had the worst impact on the market were BID, VHM, and CTG.

Financial services - a group of stocks that are highly sensitive to the stock market outlook - recorded the most negative performance today. VND decreased by 3.6% and a series of pillar codes of this industry such as SSI, HCM, VCI, VIX, FTS also adjusted around 1-2%. Red covered almost the entire board.

During the session when the market fell, liquidity also decreased. The total transaction value on the HoSE floor recorded more than 13,900 billion VND, 1,700 billion lower than the previous session.

Foreign investors continued to sell net with stronger force when the value recorded more than 650 billion VND, nearly 3 times higher than yesterday. Foreign investors sold more strongly than MWG and FPT.

Regarding today's session, Vietcombank Securities (VCBS) commented that the market is retesting the 1,240-1,250 point mark, so it is difficult to avoid fluctuations in this area. However, it is still possible to see the differentiation between stocks in the market, thereby opening up opportunities for investors to catch the bottom for short-term surfing purposes. Stocks that should be of interest will be codes that do not break the upward trend or maintain cash flow and are showing breakout signals from a proven support base.
