President Luong Cuong visits the Embassy and Vietnamese community in Chile

President Luong Cuong suggested that the Vietnamese Embassy in Chile continue to promote its role as a bridge to promote and further deepen the special Vietnam-Chile relationship.

According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, on the occasion of his official visit to the Republic of Chile, on the evening of November 9 local time, in the capital Santiago de Chile, President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited and talked with officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community living, working and studying in Chile.

Speaking at the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Chile Nguyen Viet Cuong expressed his gratitude to the Party and State for always paying attention to the lives of representative agencies abroad, especially in remote areas like Chile, thereby encouraging the spirit of the Embassy's staff to be determined to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and State.

Reporting to President Luong Cuong about the community situation, Ambassador Nguyen Viet Cuong said that although the Vietnamese community living and working in Chile is not large, it always knows how to promote the spirit of solidarity.

In addition to the representative agency staff, the majority of Vietnamese people do business and live in southern Chile, and a small part in the capital Santiago and northern Chile.

The Ambassador affirmed that on the basis of the traditional relationship, nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries, the core and continuous task of the Vietnamese Embassy in Chile is to maintain good political relations between the two countries.

The staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Chile always believe in the Party and State's guidelines and policies, as well as the country's increasingly rising position and belief in the era of national growth, building a developed Vietnam.

The Ambassador pledged to make every effort to carry out foreign affairs well, promote defense, economic and trade cooperation in the area as well as build a united and cohesive Representative Office, contributing to promoting the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Chile.

The opinions shared by community representatives and overseas students also expressed joy and emotion at welcoming President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation in a country half a world away from the Fatherland; affirming that despite living, studying and working far from their homeland, all of them always receive warm, sincere and united feelings every time they meet at the common home of Vietnamese people in the host country, the Vietnamese Embassy.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong sent his sincere feelings and best wishes to the entire Vietnamese community living and working in Chile, the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and their families.

The President commended and appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Embassy as well as the Vietnamese community in Chile in implementing the foreign policies of the Party and State, contributing to the continued development of the comprehensive cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Chile.

Sharing with the community about the domestic situation, the President affirmed that although the world political and economic situation is complicated, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, implementing the testament of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and with the efforts of the entire political system and people of all walks of life, Vietnam continues to maintain macroeconomic stability, inflation is controlled, major balances of the economy are ensured; socio-political stability, national defense and security are strengthened, firmly protecting independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity; foreign affairs are promoted and have achieved many positive results.

Emphasizing that the Party and State always care about and consider the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part, a resource of the national community and an important factor contributing to strengthening the cooperative and friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries, the President asked the Embassy to continue to promote its role as a bridge to promote and further deepen the special Vietnam-Chile relationship.

Along with that, according to the President, the Embassy must also continue to synchronously deploy the fields of political diplomacy, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy and community work, in which priority is given to promoting the role of advising, accompanying and supporting the implementation of economic, trade and investment cooperation programs and projects between the two countries, while continuing to build a united, clean and strong Party organization and representative agency, preserving the image of the country and Vietnamese people before international friends.

The President also expressed his hope that the Embassy would provide timely support to our compatriots in the host country as well as in the concurrently assigned area; at the same time, he hoped that the Vietnamese community in Chile, despite its modest numbers, would always be united, maintain close relations, keep in regular contact and enthusiastically participate in activities towards the roots./.
