Implementing review to achieve the best results when there are reference questions is a priority task at schools today. Teacher Vuong Xuan Thuan, Principal of Lang Son Province Boarding Ethnic High School, said: Reference questions play an important role in guiding the review process of teachers and students.

Currently, the Lang Son Department of Education and Training is organizing training and fostering for teachers on the 2025 high school graduation exam review. After the training, the school will develop a specific plan. However, the school has proactively deployed teachers to meet in groups and professional groups based on the reference structure to analyze, compare, propose teaching plans, build review content, and foster students to achieve the highest efficiency.

Sharing about the implementation of review after having reference questions, teacher Nguyen Minh Dao, Principal of Lam Kinh High School (Thanh Hoa) said: The school organized groups and professional groups to research, discuss and adjust the teaching plan for each subject. Professional groups built question banks based on the reference questions.

It is expected that each month the school will give students a test based on the reference questions at least once to familiarize them with the new test format. This is one of the bases for evaluating the teaching quality of each class, thereby making appropriate and timely adjustments in teaching and review.

At Luc Ngan High School No. 1 (Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province), the school has requested professional groups, professional teams, and teachers of subjects with reference exam questions to organize research, meetings, and professional groups to focus on analyzing the structure, format, content distribution, and level of recognition, understanding, and application of the reference exam questions.

Based on detailed analysis of the reference exam questions, along with the requirements for developing learners' qualities and abilities of the 2018 General Education Program, professional groups and teams immediately adjusted teaching plans, teaching content, question systems, exercises, and mock exams; separated into small groups of students to organize scientific, practical, and effective review instructions, promoting students' self-study and creativity.

In addition, professional groups and teams assign teachers to develop a test for each subject according to the structure and format of the reference test of the Ministry of Education and Training; organize meetings of groups and teams of teachers to review the reference test.

According to education experts, the reference exam ensures compliance with regulations on the structure and format of the high school graduation exam from 2025 announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, and at the same time, closely follows the 2018 General Education Program and mainly grade 12.

Regarding the exam content, the Ministry of Education and Training added a number of new question formats for multiple-choice subjects (previously there was only one multiple-choice question format); at the same time, increased the differentiation of the exam in all subjects to achieve the exam's objectives.

Therefore, schools need to carefully study the reference questions, analyze the matrix and structure of the exam to see what is new compared to the old program; from there, make adjustments to teaching and reviewing to focus on the right points and achieve effectiveness.

According to the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), in order to help schools, teachers, and students prepare for the 2025 high school graduation exam with peace of mind, the Ministry of Education and Training has promptly established a Steering Committee to develop reference exam questions and implemented steps to develop reference exam questions in a scientific, rigorous, and responsible manner.

In order to ensure objectivity, comprehensiveness, and closeness to the program and the teaching and learning process, the Ministry of Education and Training has invited experts, scientists, lecturers, teachers, editors who participated in developing the 2018 General Education Program, the Continuing Education Program, authors who compiled textbooks according to the 2018 General Education Program, and those who participated in training courses on building question banks and creating exam questions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training... to participate in the construction of exam question banks and exam questions.

From 2025, candidates will take four subjects, including two compulsory subjects: Literature, Mathematics and two elective subjects from the remaining subjects studied in grade 12: Foreign languages, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology. Of which, only Literature will be tested in essay form with a time limit of 120 minutes. The remaining subjects will be tested in multiple choice form, in which Mathematics will be tested in 90 minutes, the remaining subjects will be tested in 50 minutes.
