NDO - Domestic scientists expect the return of VinFuture Science and Technology Week 2024 with a series of science and technology connection activities, especially the "VinFuture Future Discovery Dialogue Series", which promises to bring a "golden opportunity" to access global knowledge and development cooperation.
The first “VinFuture Discovery Dialogue Series” will be held in 2023, aiming to open up opportunities for cooperation and transfer of potential technology in the world to Vietnam.
At the event, scientists who are members of the VinFuture Award Council and Preliminary Council, along with the world's leading experts in "hot" technology fields, will interact, exchange knowledge, and share experiences with Vietnamese scientists and researchers, while inspiring the scientific journey for tens of thousands of students and young researchers in the country.
In 2024, 8 organizations including the largest research institutes, universities in Vietnam and businesses will participate in in-depth discussions with the world's leading scientists revolving around key fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), medicine, energy, and environment...
Opportunity to acquire advanced global knowledge
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Van Minh, University of Transport, the scientific connection activity "Series of Dialogues to Explore the Future" within the VinFuture Science and Technology Week 2024 is creating an unprecedented wave of excitement for lecturers and students of the school.
“Inviting the world's leading professors, including experts in developing international innovation indices, to share about artificial intelligence - a field that is "making waves" globally - is not easy,” he emphasized.
A representative of the University of Transport added that the school expects to make the most of this opportunity to learn how to apply AI in teaching and training, and at the same time research and develop a set of innovation indexes suitable for the characteristics of Vietnamese universities.
Also one of the units participating in organizing events in the dialogue series, Hanoi University of Industry hopes that not only staff and lecturers but also students will benefit from the sharing of the world's leading scientists.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Hanoi University of Industry, said that together with VinFuture Foundation, the school has chosen the topic of energy and advanced materials, which is both attractive to participants and linked to practical development orientation.
“I hope this topic will bring high value to the school, as well as professional units,” he shared. “This is a new source of knowledge, useful for training, research as well as future orientation of science and technology development,” Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Son said.

Meanwhile, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Nga, Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change, is excited about the possibility of expanding multilateral cooperation opportunities through this direct dialogue event.
Domestic and international scientists appreciate the role of VinFuture in providing opportunities to increase global knowledge exchange and connection.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Thanh Nga, up to now, domestic units have often encountered difficulties in terms of resources and traditional working methods, but VinFuture is making a big difference. “VinFuture has a breakthrough direction in scientific development, creating opportunities for the Institute to access the most advanced things that the Fund is also aiming for,” she emphasized.
Not stopping there, VinFuture Science and Technology Week 2024 brings the Vietnamese scientific community the opportunity to directly meet the world's outstanding minds in their fields. "When exchanging with experts, we can quickly access the latest ideas and research methods, integrating with advanced global knowledge," she added.
Bringing Vietnamese science to progress faster
Through the event, Vietnamese scientists also have the opportunity to directly raise the challenges they are facing and discuss with the world's leading scientists to find the most effective solutions.
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Nga commented that the current top concern of the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change is the relationship between climate change and sectors, especially agriculture and energy - two important sectors in Vietnam. For agriculture, the challenge is becoming multidimensional as it must both adapt to climate change and reduce emissions from within the sector. Meanwhile, for energy, green transformation is expected to be the key to opening up a more sustainable future.
Associate Professor, Dr. Thanh Nga hopes that sharing from leading experts in the world will provide a comprehensive view, helping the Institute to have a suitable approach to the above issue. “In-depth research will contribute to the emission reduction target set by Vietnam, at the same time helping us achieve a sustainable development strategy,” she affirmed.

From a training perspective, Associate Professor, Dr. Thanh Nga also appreciated the value that the event brings to the process of developing young human resources.
“This is a valuable opportunity that we need to seize, especially for the younger generation. With the sharing of experiences from international professors, we can move faster, shorten the gap with global science, and apply it effectively for Vietnam,” Associate Professor, Dr. Thanh Nga emphasized.
In addition, Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Van Minh affirmed that VinFuture Foundation is playing an important role in building a focused and systematic research culture, similar to universities around the world.
“VinFuture’s support is considered a typical example of corporate social responsibility, contributing to creating a solid foundation for the development of science and technology in Vietnam. The VinFuture Foundation’s focus on supporting the practical needs of researchers not only encourages creativity but also helps improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese science in the global environment,” Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Van Minh affirmed.
In that context, experts expressed their hope that after the workshop, the cooperative relationship with VinFuture Foundation will continue to expand. “With a methodical, professional and effective working spirit, I believe that VinFuture Foundation will succeed in its mission. I also hope that after the workshop, Hanoi University of Industry and the Foundation will maintain a close cooperative relationship, contributing to supporting the university’s scientists and promoting the development of the Foundation in accordance with its principles,” Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Son said.
