On the morning of February 23, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of District 8 Police (HCMC) coordinated with relevant units to handle the scene and investigate the cause of the fire at the paper shop on Hung Phu Street (Ward 10).

Initial information, at around 11:40 p.m. on February 22, a fire suddenly broke out on the second floor of a house located at 893 Hung Phu (Ward 10, District 8). Upon discovering the fire, local residents and local fire prevention forces tried to put out the fire but were unsuccessful. The fire quickly spread, and a column of smoke rose high. Many residents had to carry their belongings and evacuate.
Upon receiving the news, District 8 Police dispatched two fire trucks and dozens of soldiers to the scene. By 3 a.m. on February 23, the fire was completely extinguished.
According to information from the leader of Ward 10 People's Committee, the above house was rented by Mr. NTT (42 years old) to do business in paper, garbage bags...
The fire did not cause any human casualties but burned down many properties inside the house, including: 1 motorbike, 200 toilet paper rolls, 100 kg of garbage bags and many other items.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by authorities.
