On the morning of March 22, the forest in Nghiem mountain, Hoang Khai commune, Yen Son district (Tuyen Quang province) was left with only a desolate scene after a fire that lasted more than 12 hours.
At around 12 noon on March 21, a fire broke out fiercely in the forest of Nghiem Mountain. Due to dry weather and strong winds, the fire spread quickly.
According to a report from Yen Son district, over 1,000 people, including soldiers, police, militia and people from Hoang Khai commune, participated in the firefighting, creating nearly 1,000m of runway to prevent the fire from spreading. Through audio-visual equipment from the forest rangers, it is estimated that about 20ha of forest was burned.
At 10am this morning, the fire was completely extinguished. The burned area was mainly bamboo, thick vegetation... After the fire, the whole green hill was now desolate and desolate.
According to initial information, the culprit of the forest fire was identified as a local resident burning vegetation to plant trees.
