(Dan Tri) - The European Union (EU) is preparing to provide Ukraine with a military aid package worth about 20 billion euros (nearly 21 billion USD).

Avia Pro reported on February 22 that European countries are making efforts to send emergency military aid to Ukraine to help Kiev strengthen its defenses.
Kyiv Independent quoted Bloomberg as saying that the new aid package worth up to 20 billion euros aims to provide Ukraine with air defense systems, artillery shells, long-range missiles and drones.
Britain, France and Germany are expected to lead efforts to ensure the rapid delivery of weapons and improve Ukraine's standing as the Trump administration seeks to reach a deal to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
While Britain focused on precision weapons and armored vehicles, and France focused on artillery and air defense systems, Germany accelerated the pace of military equipment deliveries, including tanks and air defense systems.
Details of the aid package will be discussed at an upcoming meeting of the bloc's foreign ministers.
However, the aid plan could be delayed as Hungary has said it will oppose any additional aid to Ukraine. In addition, the German election on February 23 could also affect the plan.
