After a long wait, Windows users can now officially use ChatGPT via a standalone application instead of via a browser. Unfortunately, not everyone can access this chatbot application right away.

According to the latest announcement, OpenAI's ChatGPT app for Windows is currently only available to paid users, including ChatGPT Plus, Enterprise, Team, and Edu plans. Free users will have to wait a little longer.
Additionally, this chatbot does not yet fully support the features of the web and mobile versions. Most notably, the Advanced Voice Mode is not yet integrated.
OpenAI also notes that access to the ChatGPT application on Windows computers at work may be restricted by individual company IT policies.
However, ChatGPT on Windows still offers certain benefits, such as quick access to AI chats, changing settings, and uploading files directly. At the same time, using the shortcut 'Alt + Space' will also help users open the application faster than using a browser.
Eligible users can download and install the ChatGPT app for Windows now via the Microsoft Store. OpenAI recommends users to be cautious when downloading apps from unofficial sources.
