Many ethnic minorities have lived together for a long time, creating a unique culture and bustling traditional festivals. People have a simple and honest life; know how to prepare rustic dishes with the flavor of the mountains and forests; preserve agricultural production practices and long-standing lifestyles; the overlapping nature with immense green hills - these things blend together, attracting tourists, and are advantages for Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen to develop community and experiential tourism.
Khuon Tat - a bright spot of community tourism
The Dinh Hoa War Zone and Safety Zone (ATK) were the residence and workplace of Uncle Ho and previous leaders; the agencies of the Party, Government, Ministry of National Defense... were the headquarters during the years of resistance against French colonialism. As of September 2024, in Dinh Hoa district, there are 183 historical, cultural and scenic sites, including 01 special national relic (including 13 component relics); 18 national relics; 29 provincial relics.
In particular, recently, Dinh Hoa district organized the announcement of the Provincial People's Committee's Decision to recognize the Khuon Tat Hamlet Community Tourism Site, Phu Dinh Commune. Comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee said that Khuon Tat Hamlet has 102 households with more than 400 people, the proportion of ethnic minorities accounts for more than 90%. This is where Uncle Ho lived and worked during the period of 1947-1954.
In the hamlet there are many beautiful landscapes, majestic mountains, waterfalls, many historical relics (Khuon Tat historical relic is one of 13 relic sites belonging to the ATK Dinh Hoa Special National Relic Site), and unique cultural identity.

Khuon Tat Hamlet has implemented the district's support contents including landscape construction and supporting households to participate in tourism development such as: Investing in a 1.5 km long road to the tourist site. Implementing a 50% bank interest support package for 02 households registering for loans to develop community tourism.
Supported landscape creation for 03 households registering to develop tourism with a budget of 80 million/household; made water wheels, built village gates... After a period of implementation, up to now, initially 05 households have registered to operate homestays with the capacity to receive 20-25 tourists/facility; at the same time, developed a number of supplementary products to welcome tourists such as herbal foot bath; fishing experience; folk games; making traditional cakes; cycling experience at tourist destinations....
"The effective implementation of policies and content supporting tourism development has encouraged and motivated the people of Khuon Tat hamlet to participate in tourism development, promote and introduce cultural identity and tourism products; creating sustainable livelihoods for people to develop the economy and reduce poverty," emphasized comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh.
The Khuon Tat hamlet community tourism site, Phu Dinh commune is directly managed by the People's Committee of Phu Dinh commune, directing the ATK community tourism cooperative and households registered to participate in community tourism development activities to implement registered tourism activities, develop tourism, organize to welcome visitors; develop and maintain tourism products.

Households and individuals in the hamlet directly participate in providing services at tourist sites. Households providing tourism services are trained in skills for developing community tourism and operating rural tourism development. Many households in the hamlet have visited, studied and exchanged experiences in developing community tourism in the provinces of Hoa Binh, Son La, Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang.
Since its inception, the Khuon Tat community tourism site has welcomed over 20 groups of visitors with over 5,000 visitors coming to experience the experience. In addition to fully preparing all conditions to welcome visitors, households doing community tourism in Khuon Tat always actively learn from tourism development experiences; focus on improving the quality, attitude, and service style to create a good impression, attracting more visitors to community tourism services.
Continue to expand tourist attractions to create attraction
According to Chairman of Dinh Hoa District People's Committee Nguyen Minh Tu, in addition to Khuon Tat tourist site, Phu Dinh commune, the District People's Committee surveyed and put into operation community tourism sites associated with rural agriculture and Tea culture in Phu Dinh communes (Phu Ninh hamlet; Dong Keu hamlet), Diem Mac (Ban Bac hamlet; Ban Quyen hamlet; Song Thai hamlet...), Phu Hoi hamlet, Son Phu commune; coordinated to survey discovery tourism in Tham Bay (Quy Ky commune); Khau Que (Linh Thong commune); eco-tourism - resort (Bao Linh Lake, Bao Linh commune); community tourism associated with historical, cultural, spiritual, ecological and resort relics at locations: visiting Cho Chu Prison - Hang Pagoda - Bao Linh Lake...

Comrade Nguyen Minh Tu said that in order to facilitate the development of tourism products in the area, Dinh Hoa district is actively promoting localities to focus on developing strong agricultural products, developing product brands, OCOP products to serve tourism development; organizing activities to encourage people to participate in tourism development such as: organizing training courses on bringing agricultural products to e-commerce platforms in Dinh Hoa district; Propagating, promoting, and exploiting the value of products and specialties of Dinh Hoa locality (02 dishes of Dinh Hoa including Dinh Hoa ant egg cake and Dinh Hoa bamboo rice were selected by the Vietnam Record Association as Top Vietnamese specialties (2021 - 2022); participating in the Logo, Slogan and souvenir design contest, Thai Nguyen province tourism gifts with the Tay conical hat product winning the consolation prize; participating in the exhibition booth introducing traditional crafts of weaving, embroidering Dao ethnic costumes, weaving Tay conical hats, making Tinh lutes... introduced in the cultural space at the Long Tong ATK Dinh Hoa festival.
"The work of preserving, creating and promoting cultural values continues to be implemented. The work of preserving tangible cultural heritage is of interest, historical and cultural relics and scenic spots are protected and promoted, becoming a source of tourism for many delegations from inside and outside the province; especially the relics are also red addresses for learning for generations of students" , comrade Nguyen Minh Tu shared.
Regarding the ranked relics, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dinh Hoa district said that most of the relics have been preserved and restored, many relics have also had their tunnels, trenches, sheds, etc. restored, contributing to the long-term preservation of the relics, while creating positive effects in the introduction and propaganda work. Socialization in the preservation and restoration of relics has been carried out in many relics, especially those related to the birth; development and growth of central agencies and the army; relics of special importance, which are evidence of historical and cultural values.
From 2021-2024, 11 national and provincial historical relics have been restored, of which 8 relics were restored from socialized sources.
