Associate Professor Kha added that with Son's injury, there is a good chance of recovery, but it depends on many factors such as: the technical level of the surgical team, post-operative care, infection status, rehabilitation exercises, nutrition and psychology.

At the age of 27, Son will need about 1-1.5 months for the bone to heal. Immediately after surgery, the patient needs to exercise to avoid muscle atrophy and joint stiffness to help the rehabilitation process better.

Rehabilitation will be carried out in stages with appropriate exercises as prescribed by the doctor. Full recovery can take 15-18 months. In addition to good surgical techniques, rehabilitation at the hospital, at the team, at the club (called post-hospital rehabilitation - in the community) according to the training regimen of the sports medicine specialist, rehabilitation is very important.

After 5 matches with 7 goals at the 2024 ASEAN Cup, although he had to leave the field early in the second leg of the final in Thailand due to injury, striker Nguyen Xuan Son still became a favorite name of many Vietnamese fans.
