The revised Law on Health Insurance stipulates that patients can choose their initial medical examination and treatment facility; and can flexibly transfer medical examination and treatment facilities according to professional requirements.

Patients are entitled to 100% of the benefits when examining and treating at the primary level nationwide, 100% of the benefits when examining and treating inpatients at the basic level nationwide, and 100% of the benefits when examining and treating at any basic or specialized medical facility.

In particular, in some cases of rare diseases, serious illnesses..., patients are taken directly to specialized medical facilities for examination and treatment.
