In the competitive atmosphere to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22 (1944-2024), agencies and units have enthusiastically organized many meaningful and healthy cultural, artistic and sports exchange activities. These activities not only practically improve the spiritual life of officers, soldiers and people but also contribute to educating the tradition and qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the 80-year history of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam People's Army, and strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people.
In recent days, at the Military Command of Binh Lieu district, an open sports tournament was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22, organized by the district's armed forces. Over 200 officers and soldiers enthusiastically participated in football and volleyball competitions in an open and exciting atmosphere.
Lieutenant Colonel Tang Van Tinh, Political Commissar of the Binh Lieu District Military Command, shared: Not only is it an activity to celebrate the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22, the sports tournament also contributes to promoting the sports movement in the district's armed forces, encouraging officers and soldiers to improve their health, improve the cultural life and healthy spirit of the soldiers. Along with that, every year, the District Military Command coordinates with units and localities to organize the programs "Spring on the border - Tet with love between the army and the people", the National Great Unity Day with cultural exchange activities, traditional arts, sports, and making cakes, and festivals between officers and soldiers with local ethnic people. Through that, it aims to increase the spirit of solidarity, mutual support, responsibility, love between the army and the people, and is also an opportunity for officers and commanders to be closer, listen, and share more with soldiers.
Not only at Binh Lieu Military Command, the work of caring for the spiritual and cultural life is always one of the important tasks that units pay attention to, lead and effectively direct. Accordingly, activities to care for the cultural and spiritual life of officers and soldiers are carried out in many diverse and rich forms such as: Organizing newspaper reading, watching news in the evenings; organizing discussion and exchange, thematic activities on the occasion of major holidays of the country and the industry; competitions, cultural and sports exchanges, organizing comrades' birthdays... In addition, unit commanders are also regularly close to and grasp the ideological situation of the troops through maintaining the Day of Politics and Spiritual Culture, the Day of Law, listening to the troops speak, speaking for the troops to understand.
In 2024, the Provincial Military Command successfully organized the Mass Art Festival of the provincial armed forces and youth and students from the grassroots level to the Provincial Military Command level with the participation of nearly 5,000 officers, soldiers, students and pupils; coordinated with the Museum and the Military Region Cultural House to organize a mobile exhibition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory at Regiment 244; organized the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day attracting over 3,400 officers, soldiers and people to participate; organized for officers, soldiers, students and people to visit the Traditional House of the Provincial Military Command; organized 16 film screenings for officers and soldiers of agencies and units in the armed forces....
Along with that, units are interested in investing in supplementing the system of cultural and sports facilities to meet the living and cultural needs of officers and soldiers. Up to now, 16/16 focal points of agencies and units under the Provincial Military Command have physical training areas that meet the standards prescribed by the Ministry of National Defense; 100% of units have reading rooms, common rooms, and law bookcases; regularly invest in and purchase all kinds of books; 100% of agencies and units from Company level and above have televisions, loudspeakers, karaoke players, and transistor radios to serve the living, studying, and entertainment activities of officers and soldiers. The system of billboards, billboards, and propaganda posters at the units are renovated and arranged in the right places, many flower beds and ornamental plants are newly planted, cared for, and trimmed daily, creating a cool, clean, and tidy space for soldiers to live, work, and train.
With the attention in leadership, direction and many diverse and practical ways of doing things of the Party Committee, the commanders of agencies and military units in the province have contributed practically to improving the material and spiritual life of the soldiers. From there, helping officers and soldiers feel secure in training, dedicating themselves, completing assigned tasks well, building a strong, comprehensive, exemplary and typical unit.
