On the evening of April 15, in Hanoi, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held an award ceremony for the creation and promotion of literary, artistic and journalistic works of the Ministry of National Defense on the topic of the armed forces (LLVT) and revolutionary war (CTCM) in the period 2020 - 2025.
Attending the ceremony were: Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Head of the Award Steering Committee; Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Associate Professor, Doctor, Musician Do Hong Quan, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations.
Every 5 years, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army organizes the awarding of creative awards and promotion of literary, artistic and journalistic works of the Ministry of National Defense on the topics of military and political science .
Following the success of the previous 5 awards, the Ministry of National Defense Press Award on the topic of the Armed Forces and CTCM in the period of 2020 - 2025 continues to attract press agencies nationwide. The award has gathered the positive response of artists and journalists participating, with a diverse composition from senior artists who have had many creative achievements and young forces that have matured in recent years, authors who are soldiers or have been in the army and many groups and individuals working in the fields of performing arts, professional composition, and amateur composition in agencies inside and outside the Army.
In addition to the leading press agencies of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and newspapers of military regions, military branches, and the Border Guard, there is also the active participation of central and local press agencies, such as: Nhan Dan, Cong An Nhan Dan, Tien Phong, Tuoi Tre, Phap Luat Viet Nam, Cong Ly, Dau Tue, Kinh Te va Do Thi, Tai Nuoc Va Moi, Thoi Bao Van Hoc Nghe Thuat... Many electronic press agencies also responded such as Vietnamnet, VnExpress, VTC News...
The Ministry of National Defense Press Award also spread to press agencies, radio and television stations in provinces from North to South, such as: Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Long An, Phu Yen, Vinh Long...
The works mostly meet the criteria of the Organizing Committee, from content to form, with many artistic creations with new perspectives. Throughout the works are images Uncle Ho's soldiers in building and defending the Fatherland in the past and present. The works nominated for the award demonstrate richness not only in terms of art but also in content, national cultural identity, and military traditions, expressed by the authors with different levels, with their own personality and mark, reflected in many dimensions, and highly academic.
Most prominently, the clearest evidence is that there have been large-scale, large-form literary and artistic works, commensurate with the historical stature of the Army, composed, staged and performed, creating a deep impression; the works of young authors have reflected the thoughts, feelings, will and rhythm of life of today's soldiers.
Along with closely following and reflecting the practical life of today's soldiers, the content about the history of the CTCM is also continued to be exploited by many journalists with new materials and new perspectives, thereby spreading a profound message about the tradition of steadfast, indomitable, and heroic struggle of our army and people in the two resistance wars for national liberation and the battles to protect the Fatherland's borders.
The organization of the Ministry of National Defense's Press Award on the topic of military and defense aims to contribute to encouraging and motivating press agencies nationwide to actively promote and spread the spirit of dedication of the press. Uncle Ho's soldiers in all fields of work, thereby affirming the position and noble mission of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of protecting, building and developing the country.
The awarding council received 3,463 works; as a result, 208 excellent works were awarded by the Ministry of National Defense. Of which, the electronic newspaper category won 1 A prize, 2 B prizes, 2 C prizes, and 3 consolation prizes. Cao Bang Newspaper has a group of authors: Bich Ngoc - Quynh Anh - Nong Loan - The Vinh won B prize with a series of 5 articles " Lighting up the tradition at the "source of strength" of the heroic Army".
At the ceremony, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To launched the Award for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the topic of the armed forces and the CTCM period 2026 - 2030 and believed that the authors will continue to create and contribute more valuable literary, artistic and journalistic works with ideological and artistic values, rich in expressiveness, urging cadres and soldiers to aspire to contribute and act for the Fatherland, for the people, for the cause of building and firmly protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.
