(kontumtv.vn) – Supporting livelihoods for people with disabilities is one of the important solutions to create opportunities for people with disabilities to be independent in life, reducing the burden on families and society. With the spirit of overcoming difficulties and support from the Provincial Association for the Protection of Children's Rights and the Protection of People with Disabilities , many people with disabilities have risen up and confidently integrated into the community.

The family of Mr. Le Van Phuoc in village 5, Doan Ket commune, Kon Tum city is in difficult circumstances. He is mentally disabled, his wife is often sick. The family's life depends on social allowances and hired labor. Faced with the difficult situation of the family, the Provincial Association for the Protection of Children's Rights and the Support of the Disabled mobilized benefactors to build a house; at the same time, gave breeding cows so that the couple could work with peace of mind. Mr. Le Van Phuoc said: " Before, I worked as a construction worker, doing whatever was asked of me, I fell off the scaffolding and now I can't go anymore. My family was given a house and cows, and at home we also cut grass to raise the cows."

Mr. Siu Jat in Dak Kia village, Doan Ket commune, Kon Tum city is over 60 years old this year. His family is poor. His wife is not in good health, his daughter has a mental illness and cannot walk. He himself lost an arm and a leg so he has no stable job. In 2022, the Provincial Association for the Protection of Children's Rights and the Support of the Disabled and other benefactors supported his family with a cow. Mr. Jat excitedly said: " A prosthetic leg like this is useless, and an arm like this cannot do anything, but people are supporting that cow. If you have another child, sell it. If it is a male, I will sell it, but if it is a female, I will raise it like this, thank you very much."

In recent times, promoting its role as a bridge connecting philanthropists to the unfortunate, the Provincial Association for the Protection of Children's Rights and the Support of the Disabled has carried out many meaningful activities. Through funding sources, the Association has organized visits and encouraged families of the disabled, awarded scholarships, donated wheelchairs, and supported health care. In addition, it has opened vocational training classes, provided training, and disseminated the Party's policies and the State's laws related to the disabled. Ms. Doan Thi Thuong, President of the Association for the Protection of Children's Rights and the Support of the Disabled in Kon Tum Province, said: " Recently, the living standards of people with mental disabilities have been very happy, positive, and integrated into the community. Disabled households have been supported, visited, and encouraged, so they are more confident and integrated into the community. In the coming time, the Association will continue to connect with businesses, philanthropists, and donors to have a resource to help people with disabilities improve their material and spiritual lives."

Kon Tum province currently has over 7,600 people with disabilities and over 73,000 children in difficult circumstances who need care and help. From mobilized resources, in 2024, the Provincial Association for the Protection of Children's Rights and Support of the Disabled sponsored over 13,000 people with disabilities and orphans in difficult circumstances with a total amount of nearly 5 billion VND. These activities help people with disabilities reduce their inferiority complex, gradually change their awareness, and strive to improve their lives./.
