Take care of the regime and policies for people with meritorious services

In recent times, the implementation of policies and regimes for people with revolutionary contributions has always received special attention and direction from Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province with practical actions, contributing to easing the pain of war, helping families of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions to have a better and better life.

Caring for policies and regimes for meritorious people. Leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs visited and presented gifts to war invalids and sick soldiers being treated at the provincial Nursing Center for Meritorious People.

Currently, the whole province has 22,918 policy beneficiaries and meritorious people receiving monthly allowances with a budget of over 500 billion VND per year. Although the beneficiaries are numerous, of many different types, and located in a large area, the implementation of policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution has always been of interest to Party committees, authorities, and organizations at all levels, fully and promptly implemented, with the right beneficiaries, in accordance with policies and regimes, and within the prescribed time, contributing to ensuring social security.

Since the beginning of the year, the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has received and processed 5,726 dossiers of policies for beneficiaries and meritorious people. Of which, funeral expenses were resolved for 117 relatives of martyrs, 98 people infected with toxic chemicals, 368 cases of resistance fighters who were awarded medals and orders; 22 martyrs' family certificates were issued, procedures for moving 17 martyrs' remains were completed, and 80 certificates of merit were reissued.

Received and processed procedures to amend and supplement 57 war invalids' files, resolved to enjoy additional war invalid benefits for 9 cases, issued 44 certificates of people infected with toxic chemicals; assessed 3,087 war invalids and martyrs' files following the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, Ho Chi Minh Campaign... to organize gratitude activities.

The “Repaying gratitude” movement has received enthusiastic response and participation from the whole society. From the “Repaying gratitude” fund, programs to build “Houses of gratitude”, give “Savings books of gratitude”, take care of lonely and weak fathers and mothers of martyrs, support Vietnamese Heroic Mothers... have been effectively implemented.

During the 2024 Lunar New Year, the whole province visited and presented 53,806 gifts with a total cost of over 14.2 billion VND; implemented a nursing regime for people with meritorious services for 7,975 people; subsidized nearly 1 billion VND to buy rehabilitation equipment and orthopedic devices for policy beneficiaries; coordinated with the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to organize activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; organized a delegation of outstanding people with meritorious services of the province to visit martyrs' cemeteries and historical sites in Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh...

During these days of July, the province has been organizing visits and giving gifts to people with meritorious services and relatives of those with meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day. In addition to taking care of their material and spiritual lives, the Party Committee, government and people in the province also pay attention to and show gratitude to the deceased through many practical and meaningful activities.

In particular, the upgrading and renovation of martyrs' cemeteries and martyrs' memorial houses have been given attention and funding by localities to repair and embellish, ensuring solemnity, meeting the needs of the people to honor and commemorate heroic martyrs, and educating revolutionary historical traditions for future generations.

Caring for and supporting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers has long been a meaningful political and social activity, demonstrating the responsibility and sacred affection of the community for the Mothers. The province currently has 31 living Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. In addition to receiving monthly allowances according to regulations, the Mothers are cared for and supported for life by departments, branches, agencies, units... This is a valuable source of encouragement, helping the Mothers live happily and healthily.

In 2024, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of the province will continue to direct districts, cities and towns to implement documents of the Government, ministries and branches guiding the implementation of Ordinance No. 02/2020/UBTVQH14 dated December 9, 2020 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly; effectively implement the settlement of regimes and policies for people with meritorious services; strive for 100% of communes, wards and towns to do a good job in dealing with people with meritorious services, 100% of policy households of people with meritorious services to have a standard of living equal to or higher than that of the community where the subjects reside; collect the "Repaying gratitude" Fund at 3 levels to reach over 2.5 billion VND.

Practical and effective actions have contributed to the effective implementation of preferential policies for people with meritorious services, improving efficiency, making the Movement "All people take care of families of war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution" a regular activity; providing practical support, improving the material and spiritual life of families with meritorious services and people with meritorious services in the area.
