According to many shop owners, real pine trees imported from Europe, especially Denmark and Canada, are the hottest products this year. Sharing with Cong Thuong Newspaper, Ms. Lan Huong, owner of a bonsai shop in Cau Giay District (Hanoi), said that this year, the number of customers asking to buy real pine trees has doubled compared to last year. There are days when the shop does not have enough goods to deliver to customers, even though they have ordered in advance from the supplier. "Customers mainly look for Nordmann pine trees from Denmark because of their beautiful shape and natural fragrance," Ms. Huong said.
According to the reporter’s research, unlike fake pine trees made from PVC plastic, real pine trees usually have a lifespan of only about 3-4 weeks after being cut. However, their price is not cheap, ranging from 600 thousand VND to over 20 million VND depending on the size and type of tree.
According to Ms. Lan Huong, the cheapest price is 600 thousand VND for a 70cm tall tree, the taller the tree, the higher the price. In addition, she also takes advantage of additional decor sets of Christmas tree decoration accessories from 1 million to 10 million VND, suitable for many families who do not have much time to go shopping for decorations.
Real pine trees are sought after by many people due to the current demand for genuine products. According to Mr. Tuan Anh, an office worker in Cau Giay (Hanoi), he bought a real pine tree because of the natural feeling it brings. "Christmas is an opportunity for families to gather and a real pine tree will make the space more cozy. Real trees have a pleasant scent, which cannot be compared to fake pine trees. Moreover, the feeling of touching pine leaves is also very interesting" - Mr. Tuan Anh expressed.

In addition, some other opinions also say that the scent of natural pine resin not only brings a feeling of relaxation but also creates a special festive atmosphere. Especially for families with young children, real pine trees are also an opportunity for children to learn more about nature.

Despite the strong demand, the supply of real pine trees is not easy to meet. Ms. Lan Huong explained that real pine trees must be imported from abroad, so the transportation cost is very high. In addition, preservation is also very difficult, especially in the hot and humid climate of Vietnam. Just a small mistake can cause the tree to wither or lose its leaves.
Not only that, importing real trees also depends on phytosanitary regulations and import paperwork. This forces many stores to order very early to ensure enough quantity for the Christmas season.
