According to the Central Highlands Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours, Dak Lak province has had widespread rain, scattered moderate rain, heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms in some places. Total rainfall from 14:00 on September 17 to 14:00 on September 18 is commonly 20.0 - 70.0mm.

In particular, there are larger places such as Yang Reh: 100.8mm; Ea Sin: 95.2mm; Buon Ma Thuot City: 93.0mm; Ea Trul: 87.4mm; Cu Kbang: 79.6mm; Ea Ning: 73.8mm; Cu Pong: 71.2mm.

On the night of September 17, heavy rain caused some roads (on the left of the picture is Pham Ngu Lao Street) in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province to be deeply flooded, with strong currents causing some vehicles to stall and drift.

Heavy rain is forecasted to continue in Dak Lak province from 3:30 p.m. on September 18 to 3:30 p.m. on September 20. Rainfall is generally from 60 - 120mm/period, in some places it is greater than 140mm/period; in the eastern and northeastern regions of the province, there will be rain, in some places moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon, evening and night.

The Central Highlands Hydrometeorological Station also warned that heavy rain could cause flooding in low-lying areas and the risk of flash floods and landslides on steep hillsides.

Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind can affect human life, agricultural production, break trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.

Previously, on the evening of September 17, in Buon Ma Thuot City, heavy rain caused many streets in the city center such as Pham Ngu Lao, Luong The Vinh, Y Nue, Nguyen Du, Nguyen Tat Thanh, etc. to be partially flooded. The rushing water caused some motorbikes and cars to stall and drift while traveling on these streets.

Immediately afterwards, the authorities were present and blocked some roads and put up ropes to prohibit people and vehicles from traveling to ensure safety.
