Flash flood, landslide and land subsidence warning due to heavy rain and floods

From 7:00 p.m. on October 15 to 7:00 a.m. on October 16, the province had rain, moderate rain, and heavy rain in some places, such as: Ban Xeo: 83.0 mm, Den Thang 57.0 mm, Muong Vi 53.2 mm (Bat Xat); Ta Gia Khau 85.6 mm, Pha Long 70.6 mm (Muong Khuong); the remaining areas had common accumulated rainfall from 10 - 30 mm. The soil moisture model showed that some areas in the districts of Bat Xat, Van Ban, Muong Khuong and Sa Pa town were nearly saturated (over 70%) or reached a saturated state.

In the coming hours, many areas in the province will continue to have moderate rain, some places will have heavy rain, with accumulated rainfall from 20 - 30 mm, some places over 60 mm. Warning of the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams in mountainous areas; landslides on steep slopes, land subsidence in the areas of Bat Xat, Van Ban, Muong Khuong districts and Sa Pa town.
