The Central Highlands and the South from August 20-21 will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 50-100mm, some places over 150mm (rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening) from August 22, the Central Highlands and the South will continue to have showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.
Beware of the risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas. Beware of heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
To proactively respond and minimize damage caused by heavy rain and the risk of flash floods and landslides, especially in areas that have experienced heavy rain in recent times, the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control requested the Command Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control in the northern mountainous provinces to urgently deploy close monitoring of forecasts and warnings, and promptly provide information to authorities at all levels and people to proactively prevent, especially in areas that have experienced heavy rain, flash floods, and landslides in recent times.
Deploy shock forces to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, low-lying areas, and areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides to proactively organize the relocation and evacuation of people to safe places.
Prepare forces and means for rescue when required; organize serious on-duty shifts, regularly report to the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Office of the National Committee for Incident Response, Natural Disasters and Search and Rescue.
