With more than 14 years of working for the Association, Ms. To Thi Linh Thao - President of the Women's Union of Bau Nang Commune, Duong Minh Chau District has always been known as a cadre close to the grassroots, accompanying poor women in economic development, actively contributing to social security work and new rural construction in the locality.

With her responsible role, Ms. Thao and the Executive Committee of the Commune Women's Union have proactively innovated the content and methods of operation, closely following the practical needs of members. Patriotic emulation movements such as "Tay Ninh Women are confident, responsible, progressive" or the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's" ... have been widely deployed, bringing practical results.

Ms. To Thi Linh Thao gives gifts to women in need.

In particular, Ms. Thao is dedicated to supporting women in economic development. With an understanding of the practical life of members, she is always concerned and looking for suitable solutions to help poor women rise up. From thinking to action, she proactively builds plans and mobilizes social resources to support women in starting businesses and stabilizing their lives.

From 2021 to present, Ms. Thao has supported 34 members with start-up loans totaling 206 million VND. Thanks to this capital, many women have boldly invested in livestock, farming, small businesses, etc., gradually improving their income and confidently taking control of their economy.

At the same time, she also coordinated to organize vocational training courses suitable to local conditions such as sewing, cooking, agricultural techniques... helping more than 200 members improve their skills and create stable jobs. The association also effectively exploited the credit capital from the district's Social Policy Bank, currently managing 8 savings and loan groups with 447 members, total outstanding debt of over 14.5 billion VND, no overdue debt.

Not only stopping at economic support, Ms. Thao also actively takes care of social security work. She has mobilized the construction of 4 charity houses with a total value of 335 million VND; presented 4,635 gifts to poor women members, with a total value of more than 1.5 billion VND, promptly sharing during holidays, Tet and the period affected by the epidemic.

A typical model that she has effectively maintained is the “Women’s Savings Group to Give Scholarships”. From the small, regular contributions of members, the model has supported 50 poor but studious students with a total amount of more than 25 million VND. In addition, the Association has also sponsored 2 orphans with a support level of 28 million VND, contributing to taking care of the less fortunate.

Ms. To Thi Linh Thao (left cover) was honored to receive the certificate of merit "Excellent grassroots union official" for the period 2021-2024 from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.

In the new rural construction movement, Ms. Thao has promoted the core role of the Association. Under her leadership, the Association has supported 40 member households to achieve 8 criteria of "5 no, 3 clean"; implemented 11 practical works and tasks with a total budget of over 800 million VND. Activities such as sorting waste at source, planting flowers along the road, collecting scrap metal to raise funds... are maintained regularly, contributing to raising community awareness and creating a green - clean - beautiful landscape for the locality.

Ms. Thao said: “I always feel warm when I can contribute a small part to help women overcome difficulties. Each shared situation, each smile of a member is the motivation for me to continue to stick together and make more efforts.”

With her positive contributions, for many consecutive years, Ms. To Thi Linh Thao has achieved the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level; and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union for the period 2021-2024. The Women's Union of Bau Nang commune, led by her, has been continuously ranked as excellent, maintaining its leading position in the emulation movement of women at the commune level in the district.

Ms. Le Thi My Le - Vice President of the Women's Union of Duong Minh Chau district said: "Ms. Thao is a dedicated Union official, always grasping quickly and effectively implementing movements at the grassroots level. She is not only a good organizer but also a spiritual support for many women to overcome difficulties and rise up in life."
