Over the past year, since the 13th experience exchange conference, the Central Association and 26 provincial and municipal associations in the North have made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved many positive results in implementing the key task of mobilizing resources and fighting for justice for Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange/dioxin. The Central Association and provincial and municipal associations in the North have allocated billions of VND from the Agent Orange/dioxin Fund and mobilized resources with high results, promptly supporting families of victims who suffered heavy losses due to storm No. 3 (Yagi); and have done a good job of visiting, giving gifts, and helping victims of Agent Orange during the holidays and the Day for Agent Orange/dioxin Victims (August 10). 13/26 provincial and municipal associations in the North have proposed that Party committees and authorities pay attention to supporting funding and means to take more than 350 veterans and victims of Agent Orange to detoxify at the Social Protection Center under the Central Association. In 2024, 15/26 provincial and municipal associations in the Northern region were awarded flags and certificates of merit by the Central Association; many provincial and municipal associations were awarded by local Party committees and authorities.
The Central Association and the Northern provincial and municipal associations continue to promote propaganda activities, people's diplomacy, and mobilize resources from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to support victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin. Notably, on April 1, 2025, in the presence of President Luong Cuong and King Philippe of Belgium, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh and Minister and Prime Minister of the Brussels Capital Region Rudi Vervoort discussed the agreement in principle between the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and the Aquitara Impact Fund 1 of Belgium, opening up new prospects for cooperation in supporting victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin according to the Resolution on supporting victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Vietnam, passed by the Belgian National Assembly in October 2023.
Speaking at the conference, the leaders of the Central Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin commended the agencies, units, provincial and municipal associations in the North, especially the Hoa Binh Provincial Association, for doing a good job of preparing for the conference. The delegates discussed many effective measures and methods in all aspects of the association's work, especially advising the Party, State, Party committees and local authorities to continue to effectively implement Directive No. 43-CT/TW dated May 14, 2015 of the Central Party Secretariat; on the work of building and operating the association in the new situation, especially when implementing the revolution of streamlining the payroll and apparatus; promoting resource mobilization, supporting livelihoods, helping Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in a more sustainable manner...
