The Ministry of Information and Communications has just issued criteria on basic network information security requirements for surveillance cameras.

Accordingly, surveillance cameras must have authentication management and cyber attack prevention features. Regarding the security vulnerability management feature, the Ministry of Information and Communications requires that manufacturers have an online system that allows receiving and disclosing information about device vulnerabilities to users, with descriptions of affected versions and instructions for updating and handling vulnerabilities.

In particular, the Ministry of Information and Communications has set out criteria for ensuring the security of user data information with surveillance cameras. Specifically, camera equipment and associated services have features that allow setting up and configuring locations in Vietnam for processing, storing and exploiting data to ensure compliance with Vietnamese laws on personal data protection...
