Cam Lo proposes to allocate capital to build infrastructure for local socio-economic development

This afternoon, November 22, the delegation of provincial People's Council candidates in Cam Lo district, led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam, had a working session with the leaders of Cam Lo district on a number of contents to prepare for the 28th session of the 8th Provincial People's Council.

Chairman of Cam Lo District People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan said that the district has implemented on schedule and estimated to complete 7/7 targets assigned by the Provincial People's Committee. Regarding socio-economic development, the locality has achieved and exceeded 21/22 targets, with one target difficult to achieve, which is the rate of people participating in health insurance.

In particular, the group of exceeded targets includes: economic growth rate reached 12.51% (plan 12%); average income per capita reached 73.2 million VND (plan 72 million VND); local budget revenue minus land use fee estimated at 46,240 million VND; maintaining the poverty rate at 1.8%, poverty reduction rate 0.29%; no policy households falling back into poverty...

The district maintains and improves the quality of advanced new rural communes, focusing on building model new rural communes and advanced new rural districts. Up to now, 6 communes have developed plans for communes meeting model new rural standards, of which 4/6 communes are completing documents and evidence, submitting them to higher authorities for appraisal. Regarding the advanced new rural district, the criteria have basically been completed, the documents have been completed, and the province has been reported to the Prime Minister for appraisal and recognition.

Regarding the key tasks in 2025, Cam Lo district focuses on striving to achieve and exceed the set plan, especially difficult targets; promoting the restructuring of economic sectors, linked to product consumption markets; effectively implementing policies to attract businesses to invest in the fields of agriculture, rural areas, tourism and the OCOP program...

Regarding difficulties and problems in the progress of disbursement of public investment capital, site clearance of key projects in the area, output of agricultural products... Cam Lo district requested the province to continue to pay attention, direct departments, branches and sectors to guide and support localities in finding solutions.

At the same time, calling for investment projects in the district on tourism, supporting the development of community tourism economic products; arranging funding to build and restore roads due to the construction of Cam Lo - La Son and Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressways through the district.

Allocate capital to build infrastructure for projects: Road to Cam Lo Tourism - Service - Urban Complex and Golf Course, Warehouse project and goods transit point in Cam Hieu commune, wholesale market infrastructure connecting with highways passing through the district...

Regarding the contents presented at the 28th session of the 8th Provincial People's Council, the district basically agreed. Regarding voters' opinions, Cam Lo district requested the province to direct relevant sectors to promptly review the key projects in the district that are slow to be implemented or not implemented to have solutions to recover them to avoid waste such as: FAM - Quang Tri High-Tech Agricultural Zone Project; Spiritual Tourism Area Project in Cam Tuyen commune.

Quickly complete the remaining items of the Ba Ho - Ban Chua Project to hand over to the district for management and operation; strengthen inspection, install speed limit signs, and survey and install traffic light systems on National Highway 9 through the district; allocate funds to build anti-erosion embankments on Hieu River and spillways in Tan Xuan and Thien Chanh villages, Cam Thuy commune, which are often cut off during the rainy season...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security that Cam Lo district achieved in 2024.

Regarding recommendations and proposals, the delegation noted them to synthesize and supplement the report submitted to the 28th session of the 8th Provincial People's Council. In particular, regarding the proposal to create conditions for investment projects in the tourism sector, Cam Lo district needs to review and synthesize the potentials and unique advantages of the locality to build a foundation to call for investment from businesses. Regarding the proposal on allocating capital to build works and projects in the area, the district is requested to synthesize and submit a detailed report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and resolution.
