Northern region

According to records, the price of live pigs today (November 17, 2024) in the North remained stable at a high level, continuing to maintain the price range of 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg. In particular, Hanoi and Phu Tho are the two localities with the highest price of live pigs in the country at 64,000 VND/kg.

The remaining provinces such as Bac Giang; Yen Bai; Hung Yen; Hai Duong; Nam Dinh; Thai Nguyen; Thai Binh; Ha Nam; Vinh Phuc; Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai and Ninh Binh remained at 62,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.

Central Highlands region

In the Central and Central Highlands regions, the price of live pigs on November 17, 2024 continued to fluctuate between 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.

Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces are forecast to maintain the price at 62,000 VND/kg. Binh Dinh may continue to trade at a lower level, around 61,000 VND/kg, while the remaining provinces will have a price of 60,000 VND/kg.

Southern region

The Southern live pig market on November 17, 2024, maintained the same live pig price compared to yesterday, fluctuating from 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.

Provinces such as Can Tho and Ca Mau have the highest pork prices in the region at VND63,000/kg. Other provinces such as Long An, Dong Nai, and Bac Lieu can maintain prices between VND60,000 and VND62,000/kg.

Overall, the live hog market was quite stable last week. Many experts predict that this trend will continue into next week, fluctuating between 60,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

Support for production and livestock restoration in areas damaged by natural disasters

Every year, our country has to endure many storms and floods, causing great damage and affecting agricultural production and livestock farming. Therefore, our Party and State have issued many mechanisms and policies to support the restoration of production and livestock farming in disaster-hit areas to help farmers quickly overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives.

Typically, Decree 02/2017/ND-CP of the Government on mechanisms and policies to support agricultural production to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters and epidemics has been implemented, helping people partly overcome the consequences after the storm.

Regarding storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), the current support level for raising livestock and poultry in areas affected by natural disasters and epidemics according to Article 5 of Decree 02/2017/ND-CP is as follows: Poultry (chickens, ducks, geese) up to 28 days old, support 10,000 - 20,000 VND/head; over 28 days old, support 21,000 - 35,000 VND/head;

Pigs up to 28 days old, support 300,000 - 400,000 VND/pig; over 28 days old, support 450,000 - 1,000,000 VND/pig; sows and boars in exploitation, support 2,000,000 VND/pig;

Dairy heifers up to 6 months old, support 1,000,000 - 3,000,000 VND/head; dairy cows over 6 months old, support 3,100,000 - 10,000,000 VND/head;

Buffalo, beef cattle, horses up to 6 months old, support 500,000 - 2,000,000 VND/head; over 6 months old, support 2,100,000 - 6,000,000 VND/head;

Deer, sheep, goats: Support 1,000,000 - 2,500,000 VND/animal. In case of support in kind, the support level is converted to equivalent support in cash according to the price at the time of support.
