The People's Committee of Ca Mau province reported to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the progress of implementing key projects of the province at a meeting chaired by Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai.

On February 6, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai chaired a meeting of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and specialized agencies to record opinions on the investment progress of key projects and works in the area.
At the conference, the Provincial People's Committee reported on the progress of the projects to upgrade and expand Ca Mau airport; the project to expand Ho Chi Minh road; investment in Hon Khoai general port and the road connecting the mainland to Hon Khoai island.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai said that the projects are very important to promote the province's infrastructure development, create a foundation for development in the next term, ensure the province's growth in 2025 from 7.5%, strive for a double-digit growth rate in the 2026 - 2030 period as directed by the Prime Minister.
The Provincial Party Secretary requested to focus on and accelerate the tasks that need to be done immediately to speed up the progress of projects that have been and are being constructed, as well as to be proactive, positive, responsible, and effective in coordinating the implementation of projects that have been approved in order to start construction soon, creating conditions for the province to develop rapidly, rise up, and meet the social needs and enjoyment of the people.
Specialized sectors informed about the construction progress of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, in which the section in Ca Mau province with a main route length of 21.9km and the connecting route to National Highway 1 with a length of 16.6km are being accelerated, expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
For the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway, through survey and shaping, the route ensures the straightest, shortest route, suitable for the actual situation with the proposed end point intersecting with Ho Chi Minh road and directly connecting with the traffic route from the mainland to Hon Khoai island. Along with that are 8 intersections on the route to connect with the end point of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, some routes with national highways, Hon Khoai port and local arterial roads.
With the Hon Khoai port project, this is a type III seaport belonging to group 5 seaports, a planned general seaport. Recently, Ca Mau proposed to add a logistics service area on the mainland (expected to be a sea encroachment area) and a bridge to the island. Along with that is the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1 from Ca Mau City to Nam Can and Ho Chi Minh Road from Nam Can to Dat Mui.
In addition, provincial leaders also gave opinions on 9 other key projects of the province in 2025 with a total investment of VND 8,444 billion.
