Market Management Team No. 8 has just coordinated with the Traffic Police Department - Provincial Police, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to stop car with license plate number: 29Z-7525, driven by Mr. TMĐ, residing in Thanh Mieu ward, Viet Tri city, showing signs of transporting illegal goods at Km12, National Highway 32C, in Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district with a quantity of 260kg of food of unknown origin.

During the inspection, the Delegation discovered that the car was transporting animal products such as buffalo, cow and pig viscera including: intestines, livers, lungs of various types with a quantity of 200kg and 60kg of frozen chicken feet for consumption. The above goods had changed color, emitted a foul smell, showed signs of decomposition, and did not meet veterinary hygiene and food safety requirements for business.

At the time of inspection, the driver and owner of the goods could not present any documents or invoices proving the origin of the goods. The owner of the vehicle admitted that all the goods were bought on the market to resell for profit, but before they could be sold, they were discovered and confiscated by the authorities.

Market Management Team No. 8 has drawn up a record and imposed an administrative fine of 10 million VND for the act of transporting animal products that do not meet veterinary hygiene and food safety requirements for business. At the same time, all of the above goods were forced to be destroyed according to regulations.

The Lunar New Year 2025 is approaching, the Provincial Market Management Department continues to direct its affiliated Market Management Teams to continue to strengthen inspection and control work to detect, prevent and promptly handle violations of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin; focus on inspecting goods related to food safety, focusing on essential goods for Tet, contributing to protecting the rights of consumers in the province.
