On March 20, 2025, the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health announced the test results of Kera Vegetable Candy product.

The Food Safety Department said that on March 19, 2025, the National Institute for Food Safety Control conducted tests on the protein, sugar, fat and total basic energy content of Kera Vegetable Candy. These indicators are all consistent with the product's self-declaration.

However, during the testing process, the Institute discovered a high content of Sorbitol (33.4g/100g) in the product but there was no information about this substance on the label, which violates the regulation on full disclosure of ingredients in food products.

The Food Safety Department has requested the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control to continue testing a number of other substances and safety indicators. The test results for microbiological safety indicators, heavy metals, mold, etc. all did not detect any violations, or were within the allowable safety limits.

On the same day, the Food Safety Department sent a dispatch to the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department and Dak Lak Health Department, requesting that violations be handled in accordance with the law.

Kera Vegetable Candy products are manufactured by Asia Life Joint Stock Company (Dak Lak), according to the order of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company (CER Group) headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is a product that is heavily promoted by famous influencers such as Quang Linh Vlogs and Hang "Du Muc". Recently, Quang Linh Vlogs attracted attention when advertising that "a Kera candy is equivalent to a plate of water spinach", a controversial statement that was criticized for being inaccurate.

Regarding the issue of false advertising, at the press conference on March 14, Quang Linh Vlogs and Hang Du Muc apologized to consumers for the negligence in conveying product information.

Quang Linh Vlogs has admitted to making false statements and affirmed that Kera Vegetable Candy only supplements nutrition from green vegetables and does not completely replace vegetables in the daily diet.

Hang Du Muc also took responsibility for transmitting excessive information when promoting the product, and admitted that she was "young and inexperienced" in the process of sharing information. She said she would cooperate with the authorities to handle any errors, if any, and was ready to comply with the law.
