(NLDO) - The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information said it will administratively sanction Pham Quang Linh and Nguyen Thi Thai Hang for false advertising.


The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that on the afternoon of March 14, it invited 3 people including Ms. Nguyen Thi Thai Hang (Hang Du Muc), Mr. Pham Quang Linh (Quang Linh Vlogs), Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien (Miss Thuy Tien) to work to clarify the level of participation in livestream sessions selling Kera Vegetable Candy products.

The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information said it will administratively sanction Pham Quang Linh and Nguyen Thi Thai Hang for false advertising.

This move was made after the Department received a dispatch from the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health requesting to check and handle information related to the livestream sales session of this group of people.

According to the conclusion of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, in these livestreams, Quang Linh Vlogs and Hang Du Muc were the hosts of the livestream selling vegetable candy products. Thuy Tien played the role of guest.

According to Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, at the meeting, all three admitted and accepted their mistakes for providing false product information.

The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information has drawn up a record of administrative sanctions against Pham Quang Linh and Nguyen Thi Thai Hang for their incorrect advertising, causing confusion about the announced quality.

Miss Thuy Tien was not punished but was reminded to pay more attention to complying with legal regulations on advertising and regulations on providing information online, according to Decree 147.

It is expected that the penalty decision will be made next week.

According to Clause 5, Article 34, Decree 38, on Administrative Sanctions in the Field of Culture and Advertising, acts of advertising that are incorrect or misleading will be fined from 60 million VND to 80 million VND.

On the afternoon of March 14, Quang Linh Vlogs and Hang Du Muc, along with representatives of Chi em rot Group Joint Stock Company (CER Group), held a press conference to speak out about the controversy surrounding Kera vegetable candy.

This press conference took place when the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports had not yet approved the Sisters Group Joint Stock Company to hold a press conference.

The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District, the People's Committee of Trang Tien Ward and the Trang Tien Ward Police then made a record of the incident. At the same time, they continued to coordinate with relevant agencies to review, clarify and provide information to the press.

The press conference of Quang Linh Vlogs and Hang Du Muc received the attention of many press agencies, but many journalists were prevented from entering the meeting room.

The reason given by two security guards at the entrance was "no specific invitation letter".
