On August 22, a working delegation of the Ministry of National Defense led by Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee 1389 of the Ministry of National Defense inspected the results of the implementation of the 1389 work, handling of administrative violations and compliance with the law, discipline, and combat readiness at the Provincial Military Command (CHQS) and the Border Guard Command (BĐBP) of Quang Ninh province.
Also attending the inspection were Major General Ha Tat Dat, Deputy Commander of Military Region 3; Major General Nguyen Van Thien, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard and Major General Dam Xuan Tuan, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard...
After conducting inspections at the Provincial Military Command, the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command and a number of affiliated units, the delegation highly appreciated the units for actively and proactively implementing their tasks well in all aspects of work. In particular, the units have coordinated well with functional forces inside and outside the army to manage the area, maintain national sovereignty, maintain political security, social order and safety in border areas and in the province; creating a favorable environment for people to live, work, produce, and develop the economy and society.
In the 1389 work, the Military Command and the Provincial Border Guard Command have directed their subordinate units to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the directives, resolutions, programs and plans of the Steering Committees 138 and 1389 at all levels on crime prevention and control, smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Since 2023, the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard has detected, arrested and handled a total of 691 cases with 819 subjects.
The Deputy Chief of the General Staff requested that in the coming time, the Provincial Military Command and the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command continue to promote the achievements and seriously learn from the limitations pointed out by the inspection team. Units continue to strengthen political and ideological education, improve political capacity and awareness for officers and soldiers, and integrate the content of 1389 work with training in national defense and security knowledge for the subjects; effectively implement the Project "Promoting the role of the military force in disseminating and educating the law, mobilizing people to comply with the law at the grassroots level in the period of 2021 - 2027". The border guard force strengthens patrols and strictly controls the border, border gates, and sea routes, combining the tasks of crime prevention and control with the prevention of illegal entry and exit.
On this occasion, the delegation also inspected military and defense work, discipline and law enforcement at Dong Bac Corporation. As a military enterprise, in addition to the task of economic development, Dong Bac Corporation always strictly maintains combat readiness according to the orders of the Ministry of National Defense, and organizes training according to regulations. Every year, the Corporation also coordinates with the legal agencies of Military Region 3 to organize legal education for the subjects.
