On March 26, a clip appeared on social media, recording the scene of parents seeing their daughter off to work abroad, touching many people.
In the clip, after giving each other instructions, Cam Ly's family, her parents and herself, wiped away their tears and reluctantly said goodbye to each other. The girl let go of her parents' hands and left as if running away, hurriedly going through customs without looking back. Perhaps with just a little more lingering and hesitation, the little girl would not have had the determination to leave.
Sharing about the viral clip, Le Cam Ly (19 years old, from Ha Tinh) said that the incident happened on the evening of March 23 at Noi Bai airport (Hanoi). During the emotional moment of parting, a stranger used his phone to record and post it on social media.
Ly explained that because of difficult family circumstances, she decided to go to Hungary to work in the restaurant and hotel industry to earn money, hoping to change her life and family situation.
"On the day we went to the airport, both my parents and I tried to hold back our tears but we really couldn't hold back our tears. My parents told me to go there alone, to take care of my health, take care of myself, and eat well. Seeing my mother's eyes red, I felt heartbroken but had to try, for the future of the family," Ly confided.
When she first arrived abroad, Ly was very confused about the culture, weather, and cuisine. She confided that she missed home very much. She often called her family to ease the feeling of emptiness.
The clip posted on social media has attracted nearly 1 million views and hundreds of thousands of interactions. Many people in the same situation expressed sympathy for the girl in the clip.
"On March 22, 2023, I also left from Noi Bai airport like this friend. I told my mother in advance not to cry because I was afraid I would cry too. My mother happily did as she said, but when she turned away, I saw her tears welling up, choking up as she wished me a safe trip. Now remembering that moment, I still can't help but be moved," account D.N. shared.
